Meteosat Spacecraft Operations Engineer

You will provide your engineering expertise to the Meteosat Spacecraft Operations Team, led by the Meteosat Spacecraft Operations Manager, the Flight Operations Division of the Operations and User Services Department. The key person shall be involved in the operations of all Meteosat spacecraft, and all related ground segment and operational services, in the various operational scenarios including MTG transition from the preoperational to the routine operations phase, including operational scenario validation testing OSVs, support to the LEOP and commissioning. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Preparation and execution of all relevant Meteosat operations. Continuous monitoring of Spacecraft performance and status. Operations preparation of the Meteosat Third Generation Satellites. Production, verification, validation, maintenance and documentation of the operational baseline data units, manual and automated procedures, TMTC Database etc.. Contribution to the satellite simulator development and use including maintenance of its operations guide for both routine operations support and operations preparation. Raising and tracking of Anomaly Reports, including investigations at subsystem level and regression testing of associated fixes and depending on the programme phase the necessary cooperation with the Project team at ESTEC and the satellite manufacturer. Preparation of material for operations training and support to the training officer, for rehearsal of operations and for team proficiency training of the Spacecraft Operations Engineers as well as other members of the Control Centre Team e.g. Analysts and Controllers using the space and ground segment simulators and simulation. Participation in any necessary meetings and reviews with external partners This includes the Routine Support Service provided by the satellite manufacturer for the Spacecraft routine operations and Progress Review Meetings for the development of the satellites of the next generation. As requested contribution to review or preparation of documentation and participate to activities to enhance knowledge transfer across EUMETSAT geostationary missions. Contribute as required to the MSG to MTG transition phase and to Full Operational Capability FOC operations build up. Participate as requested to Component Health Analyses and Reporting Tool CHART development in liaison with the Spacecraft Operations Engineering Team members of other missions e.g. EPSSG, Copernicus S3. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have an university degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline relevant to the profile together with the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks. You are fluent in English You have, as a prerequisite, a demonstrated experience in a similar function with good experience in at least two of these mandatory skills. Experience of Spacecraft Operations preferably on Geostationary Earth Orbit GEO, spinning andor 3axis stabilised spacecraft with responsibility for one or more platform subsystems or instruments during operational validation, LEOP, commissioning or routine operations phases Experience of Spacecraft Operations Preparation preferably on Geostationary Earth Orbit GEO, with responsibility on development and validation of operational baseline procedures, database etc. including validation tools e.g. SC simulator and ground segment MC facilities Experience in satellite performance monitoring and reporting aspects including anomaly analysis and solving in liaison with satellite industry, procedure change control and configuration management processes Experience in the operation or development of satellite ground segment facilities, in particular procedure development, monitor and control, mission planning, onboard software management, performance analysis, configuration management and simulator facilities Furthermore, it would be a distinct advantage for the team to have experience with some of the following Experience of MSG CF and of SCOS2000 mission control systems and use of the APEX operations procedures preparation and execution tool Proven experience in the phases of LEOP and commissioning. Specification of space system and operational concepts, facility requirements Familiarity with OnBoard Control Procedure concepts Familiarity with the ECSS Packet Utilisation Standard, customisation and usage Familiarity with system change control and configuration management procedures Data analysis software packages and programming skills in other coding languages such as Python Java etc. Use of VBA for development of adhoc tools in MS Office applications. JUNIOR SYSTEM OPERATIONS ENGINEER

As a member of the Mission Performance Team of the Realtime Services and System Operations Division RSO, the Junior Systems Engineer supports the engineering and rollout into operations of multimission monitoring, reporting solutions and other performance monitoring systems related to online data access systems and cloudbased platforms for data access services. The initial focus will be on developing capabilities to reach full proficiency in the area of operations of online data access systems and cloudbased data access service platforms in a 247 operational environment. DUTIES Support the operational rollout of upgrades to online data access systems, cloudbased data access service platforms and other multimission elements required for future satellite systems e.g. MTG, EPSSG, JasonCS Maintain documentation relating to multimission system operations Support the upgrade of multimission monitoring and reporting solutions and other performance monitoring tools, including maintaining requirements, reviewing design and technical proposals and coordination of validation test campaigns Support the analysis and evolution of other aspects of multimission system infrastructure and operations Support the configuration and routine operations of multimission monitoringreporting systems, online data access systems and cloudbased data access services platforms. G2G System Operations Engineer

In the frame of Galileo, ESA is designing the evolution of the current system which will replenish the constellation under deployment. The system has successfully gone through the System PRR process which ends the Phase A and is starting the activities for launching the Phase B. An industrial support has been required for carrying out the system engineering activities. In this context, we are looking for a G2G System Operations Engineer to work in Noordwijk Netherlands, the location could be in Transinne or Darmastrad also. Specific Tasks Perform a tradeoff analysis for what concern the operational concepts seeking cost reductions during deployment and final operation. Perform the following tasks tasks identified in ECSS o Operational analysis and concept development o Operational interfaces definition o Operations engineering plan production o Contribution to ground segment and ground systems requirements specification Define the operation aspects related with launchers Define input to the Operation System Requirement Document OSRD that implements the developed operation concept. Identify all the tools, facilities and equipment needed for the execution of the operation tasks Document the outcomes of the tasks in analysis and trade off reports, and on such basis, the Contractor shall contribute to updating the system design and justification documents, and the system and segment and interface requirements documents. Support the Agency in the interactions on G2G operations aspects with the Programme and with the operator of Galileo. Requirements Masters Degree in telecommunication engineering or related discipline At least 4 years working experience in the aerospace industry Experience with satellite systems operations planning, at system and segment level for complex systems Knowledge of advanced operational concepts and satellite autonomy. Knowledge of ILS and infrastructure monitoring topics is an asset Experience with document redaction and familiarity with OSRD and MOCD Familiarity with system analysis documentation is mandatory Holding a valid security clearance is an asset, being eligible to obtain it is mandatory.
