Responsibilities Assist in the holistic concept, deployment and management required to establish a comprehensive security program needed to support a global service provider network Perform design validation and optimization of network infrastructure Oversee network security with focus on IDSIPS, DMZ, and access management Design and implement corporate and remote network access architecture Handle daytoday network and telecommunication security related tickets Configuration of multiple models and vendors of switchesrouters, including VLAN configuration, routing protocols, etc. Performing audit and asset management of network and telecommunication equipment Develop, implement and test a disaster recovery methodology for the O3b Network Operations Centres Generate and maintain appropriate documentation for internal and external consumption on all aspects of the network infrastructure Develop an effective incident management and response plan across the organization Troubleshoot critical performance and stability issues in a timely fashion Requirements BS degree in Engineering or Computer Science Minimum of 5 years of experience in network security engineering or operations Experience in a startup environment and proven track record of working on complex projects Demonstrated experience in developing, communicating and maintaining security policies Demonstrated experience with VPN technologies SSLVPN IPSEC Juniper or Cisco certifications and experience required e.g. JNCIS JNCIP JNCIE CCNP CCIE CISSP andor Juniper Security JNCIXSEC certification is a plus Experience in developing and designing highly available systems Highly technical across a broad range of computing platforms and network protocols Familiarity with firewall design and commonly used ports and protocols Experience with identification and tracking techniques for offending IP addresses using traceroute, whois, and other internet tools In depth understanding of network security methodologies and tools, including firewall policy, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems, e.g Snort, Tipping Point, etc Prior experience managing a SIM platform, preferably STRM or Q1 Radar Experience with Unix Linux systems regarding administration and creation of shell scripts to automate tasks Experience in DDoS detection and mitigation Network analysis and management experience using Wireshark, Tcpdump, etc Experience with vendor element management systems Cisco Works, Junos Space Experience with physical design best practices, e.g. rack installation, cabling and management Must be a motivated selfstarter O3b Networks cant support immigration process in US for this job we will consider only applicants that can provide proof of right to work in United States. This position, based near Frankfurt in Germany, calls for experience of IT system security engineering.
