We need 2 ICT Engineers to manage, maintain and enhance our systems in a rapidly changing environment. We require Systems Engineers who have experience of VMware hypervisors, VDI, Microsoft Servers and NetApp storage. You will be able to apply your knowledge to ensure that our ICT services remain available within the organisation and with external computing infrastructures. Experience of a project management methodology PRINCE2, and having worked in an ITIL or ISO9001 environment would be advantageous. You will possess excellent technical knowledge and will deliver efficient and pragmatic solutions, taking into account the requirements EUMETSAT and our partners. You will have a keen eye for continuous improvement opportunities for processes, systems, service and delivery. Building excellent working relationships and collaborating with both internal and external customers is a key aspect of this role. You will be responsible for operating, integrating and upgrading our ICT services so that we can meet the challenge of future missions. You must be a team player, with the ability to collaborate with your colleagues and our international partners. You must have strong analytical skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to our user communities. Tasks This position is for 2 Mission Control Operations Engineers required to operate EUMETSATs operational systems and the preparation of future missions, with particular focus on mission control systems. 1 role providing service to the MTG Mission Operations Facility MOF team within the GEO division. 1 role equallydivided between support for the MSG programme routine operations and support to the MTG programme development and operations preparation activities. Essential requirements In addition to having a university degree or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline, the key persons shall have the following mandatory attributes At least three years experience in the operations preparation and routine operations of spacecraft mission control systems for Geostationary GEO andor Low Earth Orbit LEO satellite systems At least two years experience defining and implementing the verification and validation of spacecraft mission control systems At least two years experience operating a spacecraft mission control system based on SCOS2000 At least two years experience with the application of ECSS and CCSDS standards for spacetoground interfaces, Satellite Monitoring Control Systems Packet Telemetry and Telecommand standards, PUS Packet Utilisation Standard, etc. Desirable requirements Experience of the following would be a distinct advantage Extensive experience in the use of databases and SQLrelated querying in relation to spacecraft mission control systems Experience using configuration management systems such as CVSSVN and I or GIT Experience using satellite simulators Familiarity with flight dynamics and mission planning functions and systems as applied to satellite operations. Supporting the Project Structures Responsible Engineer during the life of the project and being accountable to the Responsible Engineer for the detailed design of structural items. Liaising with Design Office, Stress, Equipping and other associated departments that are necessary to optimise the design definition and ensuring that all structural requirements are met. The detailed checking of manufacturing drawings to ensure compliance with all structural design requirements. Supporting the Responsible Engineer to ensure long lead items are ordered and drawings released to manufacture OQOCOT On Quality, On Cost, On Time. Supporting workpackage management activities and the provision of design documentation. An appreciation of CATIA V5 or CATIA V6 is desirable. Good verbal and written communication skills as you will be knowledge sharing within internal and external departments. Ability to Manage Engineers from different disciplines.
