The Role Bring your proven engineering experience to support the full development lifecycle of our operational data processing systems. You will be involved in defining and maintaining requirements and specifications for our existing and future systems, defining appropriate monitoring tools. You will coordinate the integration of specific components into our systems, identifying methods to inspect the integrity of these changes. You will contribute to our procurement strategy and help to set up and implement maintenance contracts, policies and procedures, often with external providers. Your insights will contribute to the definition of our long term plans, identifying ways to harmonise engineering, maintenance and evolutions of all the data processing systems which exploit satellite data on behalf of EUMETSAT We are looking for someone who has experience of the full development lifecycle and the relevant industry standards. You need to be competent in system verification and validation techniques. Our data processing systems are complex so you will need to be able to use your analytical and planning skills, often working independently in a matrix environment, balancing your priorities and resources with your sound organisational abilities. You must enjoy working in a team and be able to communicate complex information effectively. Experience of leading engineering teams or managing industry contracts would be an advantage. We are looking for a young ambitious engineer, who wants to take a challenge and is willing to contribute to our excellent team onsite our customer EUMETSAT. The tasks will generally cover the routine operations of the EPS MetOp Spacecrafts and its different instruments as well as the operations preparation of the upcoming EPSSG MetOpSG Spacecraft. ResponsibilitiesDuties Support the routine operations of the EPS MetOp satellites. Provision of operational expertise to the relevant system andor platform and instrument. Maintain the corresponding operations documentation and flight procedures. Perform trending and performance analysis on the corresponding subsystems and instruments. Investigation into satellite anomalies. Participation in satellite oncall support rota. Identification and support to the implementation of system and process improvements concerning the spacecraft operations team responsibilities. Support the systems and operations preparation of EPSSG MetOpSG satellite. Support the system and operations preparation of other LEO satellites QualificationsExperience University degree in the domain of engineering, physics, or equivalent. Some experience in operations preparation and routine operations of satellite systems and subsystems preferably LEO are an asset. Essential Skills Knowledge of relevant CCSDS and ESA PUS standards, Very good knowledge of Python, Very good knowledge of XML, Excellent interpersonal skills, Proven ability to synthesise complex issues, Proven ability to plan and implement activities, prioritising according to constraints, interdependencies and opportunities, Excellent reporting skills, Experience in writing formal technical documentation, Fluent in English speaking and writing. Desirable Skills Knowledge and experience with CHART are an asset, Knowledge of the SCOS2000 Mission Control System are an asset as well as knowledge of database and OBSM management. Sky and Space Global Ltd ASX SAS, Sky and Space Global or the Company is looking to recruit several FDS Flight dynamics engineers. Description SAS is seeking talented engineers to join our team, a part of our satellite communication network operations team. This position is primarily to support the operations team by monitoring the location and relative distance of a fleet of communication nanosatellites in LEO. Tasks include monitoring and performing manoeuvre planning as needed during all phases of satellites lifetime, starting launch, through nominal operations to deorbit. Some tasks will involve writing new procedures, testing and verification of various types of procedures and SW on a simulator and execution in space, supporting satellite launch, commissioning and IOT in orbit testing, as well as monitoring the fleet during nominal operations, trend analysis and assisting planning of deorbiting at the end of life phase. At least 612 months of handson satellite FDS operations in required, and a science engineering degree, as well as good English skills written and spoken. Knowledge of different FDS SW and satellite operations SW is an advantage. The position is fulltime and will be located at our facilities in the UK. A competitive salary and benefits package will be provided. This position is available to all nationalities. Position Summary The satellite operator will work within our space operations division. The position includes supporting the development of the FDS GCC tools, producers as well as validating the onboard FDS algorithm and supporting the operations team preparations for lunch. Post launch the daily activities shall include satellites relative distance monitoring, supporting propulsion system commissioning, satellite orbit propagation, JSPOC COLA messages handling and supporting special activities on satellites during the IOT phase. The job requires working independently, as well as excellent solving problems and decisionmaking skills. The successful candidate must have good engineering skills and be experienced in all FDS aspects. Interactions with international technical teams will require the engineer to have excellent written and verbal communications skills.
