Space Applications Services performs and supports system and software engineering for the European Space Agency ESA, National Space Agencies and the aerospace industry. We are involved in international manned unmanned spacecraft programmes, earth observation, science, exploration, communications and related technology development. We require staff, wishing to join our team to work in a dynamic international environment for the following position Mission Science Office Scientist mf ENGSERVMSO201501 Tasks and Responsibilities The position covers activities in support of the ESA Human Space Operations HSO Directorate, in support of the Mission Science Office MSO as part of the Columbus Operations division. The work will be at the European Space Research and Technology Centre ESTEC at Noordwijk, The Netherlands, and requires a resultoriented and proactive approach to work in a highly complex project environment as well as a strong capacity for planning and organizing tasks. The ESA Mission Science Office support tasks will include Acting as operational interface to the newly created Science Department. Definition of science Utilisation complements per ISS Increment pairs. Tracking of associated Utilisation resources and providing related prioritization recommendations. Mission science representation in ESA ISS Mission Management and related utilization perspective advice and prioritization. Monitoring of implementation preparation of experiments with regards to increment requirements set from mission science perspective. Mission science console manning and 247 support. Tracking of and reporting on mission science accomplishments. Qualifications and Experience Applicants should have a comprehensive scientific background in a relevant discipline Biology, Medicine, Physics, Chemistry coupled with a proactive approach to support teams of scientists in the implementation of their experimental projects. Candidates are required to have following skills PhD or Msc Engineering degree in one of the Physical or Life sciences disciplines. Experience in space engineering or space operations would be an asset. Ability to successfully interface with scientists, industrialists and programme responsible functions. Ability to act with a high and continuous sciencemindset approach. A good knowledge of English is required. Mission Control Applications Engineer

One of our Space Clients in Germany is looking for a Mission Control Applications Engineer. This is a Consultancy Support position. The role would ideally suit a contractor looking for a long term consultancy role within the space industry. The submission deadline for applicants is August 24th 2015. Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Mission Control Applications and Tools team, you will have the following responsibilities Definition and maintenance of the Ground Segment reference architecture. Functional analysis and decomposition of the Ground Segment requirements. Definition of Ground Segment requirements. Interface with Operations to consolidate the requirements operational concept. Requirements verification method and initial test cases. Incorporate the reuse of the Mission Control Application kernel products in the Ground Segment requirements and design. Interface with the Mission Control Applications kernel product experts to coordinate their contributions to the requirements definition. Architectural system level design of the Mission Control Applications. Production of design models. Definition and documentation of all Mission Control Applications interfaces. Support the applications development requirement and design engineering activities. Requirements, design and implementation reviews. Support the software development of the Mission Control Applications. Participation in verification readiness reviews and verification testing campaigns. Skills Experience University degree in an engineering discipline. Several years experience in specification, design, implementation, verification and maintenance of Mission Control Applications. Definition of Ground Segment system requirements and system architectural design for Mission Control Applications. Definition of software requirements and architectural design for Mission Control Systems. Development of Satellite Mission Control Systems with MICONYS. Full lifecycle of development and maintenance of Mission Control Applications. IVV integration, verification and validation activities for Mission Control Applications. LEO Mission Control Applications andor operations would be an asset. Mission Planning Systems and Flight Dynamics Systems would be an asset. Space related standards. IBM DOORS, Sparx, Linux, RDBMS, UML, XML, Eclipse would be an asset. Good English skills are essential. Qualifications University degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
