NASA Building Satellite Mission to improve hurricane forecasting.
2015-08-25 14:31:10| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today
As constellation of 8 microsatellites, Cyclone Global Navigation Satellite System (CYGNSS) will improve hurricane forecasting by making measurements of ocean surface winds in and near eye wall of tropical cyclones, typhoons, and hurricanes throughout their life cycle. Scientists will be able to probe inner core of hurricanes using direct and reflected signals from existing GPS satellites, and satellite interaction will provide new image of wind speeds over entire tropics every few hours.
