The Waiea, The Howard Hughes Corp.'s luxury residential high-rise on Ala Moana Boulevard, will feature one of the most unique exterior designs among the high-rises in Kakaako, reflecting the area in which it is being built. Rob Iopa , president of Honolulu's WCIT Architecture, who had a major role in designing the tower on a former surface parking lot in Ward Village, shared with PBN the story behind the design.

A vacancy for a Functional Verification Infrastructure Architect has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Stevenage. You will join the Satellite FVI, Engineering Tools Control Ground Segment division that is responsible for the development of the FVI elements for space programmes. The FVI elements consist of a number of test benches software and hardware in the loop used for the Verification of the Guidance Navigation and Control GNC algorithms and performance in closed loop Development and validation of the onboard SW and the AIT procedures Validation of the functional chains and HWSW interfaces of the equipment and the space system itself during the AIT campaigns. You will be responsible for managing the development and delivery of the Functional Verification Infrastructure FVI that consists of numerical and hardware in the loop test benches used to support satellite functional verification activities. You will be responsible for managing the internal and external suppliers, coordinating the overall requirements baseline, managing the interfaces to the different stake holders, and coordinating the development, acceptance and maintenance of the various test benches to meet the programmes needs. The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Management of the overall Functional Verification Infrastructure FVI activities in terms of schedule, quality, cost, risks and baseline Act as a focal point for the system level engineering activities related to FVI Provide a synthesis of the FVI activities to the programme. Analyse system requirements, and coordinate their evolution and impact on the specifications related to the FVI Daytoday interfacing with the suppliers and the internal teams for the management of the activities Coordinate the inputs required for the internal and external activities Organise and chair formal reviews mainly software reviews and meetings with the internal and external suppliers support the programme level reviews with the European Space Agency ESA Perform the FVI planning with the support from the technical teams supervise the development and procurement of the different elements of the test benches Management of the interfaces to the users GNC, OnBoard Software, Functional Verification, Assembly Integration and Test teams Formal acceptance of suppliers deliverables and of the test benches Coordination of the maintenance activities. This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. The AOCS Architect is responsible for ensuring AOCS development activities are performed on quality, on time and on cost.
