It employs some 40,000 people and records a turnover of approximately 14 billion euros per year. A vacancy for a Detection Architect mf has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Toulouse. You will join the EO Detection Archi Development department and will join the optical instrument development technical team. As such, you will be responsible for or participate in the architecture and the technical and functional definition of the detection chain or detection subset which includes the focal plan incorporating the detectors, the electronics for implementing the detectors, the electronics for processing the signals of the detectors, as well as all electronic services contributing to the performance of the detection chains. You will also be responsible for or participate in Aligning the definition of the detection chain within the instrument with the specifications for the equipment that comprise it and compatibility of the interfaces with the functional optical, electrical, mechanical and thermal chains, The radiometric performance reports consolidated with the technical manager of the instrument, The technical and technological choices of key equipment of the detection chain composed of the detectors and the electronics processing the detector signals, The engineering plan and validation of the detection chain. You will contribute to all stages of an instruments life cycle and become a member of the project teams during the study stages stage 0 and stage A, development stages B CD up to delivery of the instruments. This role will involve travel once every two months in Europe and therefore you must be willing to travel. As the successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate the following skills Engineering degree, ideally in electronicsmicroelectronics, 3 years experience in system architecture activities andor satellite subsystems and specification of equipment, Good knowledge of analogue and digital electronics and microelectronics, Initial experience in devices or systems integrating detectors in the Visible domain andor in Infrared domain would be desirable, Ideally, knowledge of signal processing, power electronics, optics, mechanical and thermal engineering, A liking for team work and the ability to lead multifunctional activities, A sense of responsibility in keeping to commitments and respecting deadlines, Technical authority and excellent physical sense, Capacity of analysis, synthesis and control of complex systems, Discipline and technical curiosity, Creativity and taste for innovation, Good written and verbal communication, Advanced level in French and English. These software products are part of a suite which requires technical, architectural, functional and ergonomic coherency. In particular it is made up of MOSAIC automation of satellite or ground segment operations, TELMASOLEA telemeasurement analysis, DALI intersite alignment in real and nonreal time, SYSTEMA Space Engineering and FOST satellite database. These products are used by internal customers at AIRBUS Defence Space and sold internationally.This position will require security clearance or eligibility for clearance by the recognised authorities.In this context, you will be in charge of the following activities Guiding the technical development of the centres products, Defining the technical roadmap, Ensuring that your knowledge level remains uptodate by analysing and evaluating new technologies and tools, Studying the technical feasibility of the projects, Steering the RTRD activities, Contributing your skills as expert and architect to the department and beyond, Participating with various technical networks that serve Airbus Defence Space, Supporting the development of software products, Producing prototypes and, if necessary, leading an entire project to its completion, Coaching the members of the department to develop their technical proficiency. Spacecraft Propulsion Engineer Architect

A vacancy for a Spacecraft Propulsion Engineer Architect has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Stevenage. The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Design of chemical propulsion system architecture concepts. Analysis of propulsion system performance at sub system and system level for both commercial telecoms and ESA satellite programmes. You will be required to generate propulsion system specifications and perform propulsion design, performance and analysis for chemical propulsion systems. Preparation of spacecraft system test plans, test requirement preparation, verification analysis including FMECA, design verification matrices and assessing test results. Concurrent engineering with system level interfaces mainly in the structural, thermal control, integration and test, attitude control and mission analysis disciplines. You will be responsible for technical documents and presentations in support of project technical reviews. You will be the author and owner of propulsion system technical specifications Electromechanical components, pressure vessels, Design, Manufacture and Integration therefore responsible for the qualified definition and subsequent changes to it. As such you will be accountable for review and approval of the AsBuilt and its compliance with the AsDesign standard, including review and acceptance of equipmentsubsystem test results, review of end item data packs and final technical acceptance of propulsion subsystem and justification to the end satellite customer. You will be responsible to develop and implement department toolsprocess improvement strategy in conjunction with objectives defined by management. As the Work Area Manager WAM for a given project you will be responsible for Onquality, OnTime and On Cost of the propulsion subsystem. In addition you will be responsible for spacecraft flight operations monitoring. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Proven experience in Spacecraft Propulsion Design. Proven experience with Fluids System Design is mandatory. Preliminary design reviewcritical design review. Good understanding of fluids system equipment and testing. Good presentation and communication skills.
