This position is fulltime and unlimited and fully located on customer side in EUMETSAT, Darmstadt, Germany. The submission deadline for applicants is 12.01.2016 and the expected start date will be FebruaryMarch 2016. QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE Software engineer with minimum 1 year experience in maintenance of Earth Observation PDGS L0 and L1 processing Facilities. ESSENTIAL SKILLS Experience in maintaining and engineering of evolutions of large scale software systems for processing Earth Observation satellite instrument data. Experience in software development lifecycles. Competence in SW testing, unit test suite maintenance, automated testing, verification and validation. CCJava programming language experience in a UNIXLinux based environment. Software debugging and profiling tools e.g. GDB, DBX, IBM Purify, Valgrind. Knowledge of Scripting languages Python, Perl, TclTk, shell. Source code control systems preferably Subversion. DESIRABLE SKILLS Experience with DFEP processors as used by S3 and LO processing within a framework based solution PDGS for S3.
