AIV Software Engineer test data and tools

Summary Objective Climate change is affecting our life more and more, therefore not only weather forecasting but also Earth Observation are facing new challenges. New needs for higher temporal, spatial and spectral resolution, new instruments, all this becomes reality with the new Meteosat Third Generation launched and operated by our customer EUMETSAT in 2021. In order to provide our customer with an excellent Assembly, Integration, and Verification AIV service, we are looking for a software engineer ideally with experience in the Earth Observation Domain. Responsibilities Duties The principal task of the AIV engineering service team is to perform the AIV engineering activities foreseen for the integration, validation and verification of the MTG system, coordinated by the EUMETSAT Technical Officer. As a member of the future MTG AIV Engineering support team, you will be tasked with Interaction with the MTG System Team for the procurement of test data identified in the Test Specifications, including the analysis of received deliverables and attending acceptance testsM Identification and development of additional tools to generate adhoc test data or to anaylse the test results Generation of test data using the available tools, but also by reconditioningmodifying the ones procured in coordination with the MTG system team Configuration Management of tools and test datasets Due to the complexity of the entire MTG mission, it is also foreseen, that you will Contribute to maintain the AIV schedule in coordination with the AIV engineering responsible Contribute to evolution of the VCD in coordination with the Requirements verification team Contribute, if needed, to the preparation of test procedure, including the automatic test procedures, and execution of tests in coordination with the Tests preparation and execution team Qualifications Experience University degree in the domain of engineering, physics, IT, or equivalent. Essential Skills Excellent knowledge and experience of higher programming languages such as Python, CC, Java, bash scripting Experience with software specification, design and development, including relevant standards Ideally some background in software development for Earth Observation system ground segments. Some experience in the analysis and reporting of verification results versus associated requirements Experience with software specification, design and development, including relevant standards Experience in use andor development of software frameworks, use of automating tools for system deployment, testing and cofiguration Excellent interpersonal skills Proven ability to synthesise complex issues Proven ability to plan and implement activities, prioritising according to constraints, interdependencies and opportunities Excellent reporting skills Experience in writing formal technical documentation Fluent in English speaking and writing Further Details CV in EUROPASS format, certificates

Copernicus Data Processing Operations Engineer

Help us prepare the operations buildup of the planned Sentinel6 high precision altimetry mission and coordinate routine operations for the data processing and product extraction systems for other Copernicus Missions. EUMETSAT is the European operational satellite agency for monitoring weather, climate and the environment. We are leading the system definition, ground segment development, operations preparations and operations for the Sentinel6 mission, part of the highprofile Copernicus Programme. We are looking for an experienced Data Processing Operations Engineer to coordinate the operations build up for the Copernicus Sentinel6JasonCS mission due for launch in 2020. This is a unique opportunity to establish guides, documents and procedures for the data processing systems for both the primary altimetry and the secondary radiooccultation missions. You will support the Payload Data Processing PDP development activities, contributing to verification and operational validation procedures. As part of the role, you will define and implement procedures and tools for the quality monitoring of products, coordinating routine operations for the data processing and product extraction systems delivering Level 0 to Level 2 products for all Copernicus missions exploited by EUMETSAT. Using your expertise, you will contribute to the definition and product processing concepts for future missions, supporting training activities relevant to Copernicus data processing. Your work at EUMETSAT This is a 247 operational environment, managing complex data and product processing systems. You will need to be comfortable working effectively under pressure, with a minimum of supervision.
