Package description Highly competitive salary Corporate Benefits Package Relocation Assistance if applicable Further information available from the Serco Europe Recruitment Team Main responsibilities This activity is intended to support the PDGS implementation cycle, i.e. covering the architectural design and elements requirements definition phase the implementation plan definition phase the Elements Industrial Procurement phase The following tasks shall be performed by the successful candidate Support to or preparation of the PDGS SubSystems implementation documentation Review of documentation from various sources Customer, Industry during the project phases dealing with subsystems implementation and testing. Management of the review item discrepancies, system or software problem reports and action databases linked to PDGS SubSystems implementation contracts Generation of technical notes whenever needed during the relevant project phases Operations of the various supporting software and tools either COTS or those developed inhouse e.g. DOORS , etc. Support to the acceptance of the CFI items provided by the project Active participation to Ground Segment reviews organized either by Customer or by Industry Active participation to PDGS SubSystems acceptance tests Ideal candidate The ideal candidate should bring the following skills and experience University degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in engineering or science related subject Project management experience, preferably in the field of Earth Observation Ground Segment Development Knowledge of the Earth Observation missions and instruments and processes related to their PDGS development would be an asset. Outputs Recommendations for updates to the PDAP Risk Register, List of Open Issues, Actions, PDAP andor DPI andor PGFs Schedule, PDAP andor DPI andor PGFs Trackers, etc. Attend Integration and Testing activities Attend, as requested, to Integration and Testing activities of the Data Processing systems under development, including the Data Processing Infrastructure DPI, the L1L2 Products Generation Functions PGFs, whether held at the PDAP or DPI Suppliers premises in Toulouse, at the PGFs Suppliers premises, or at the Client Headquarters in Darmstadt. Outputs Test Status Reports covering any observation made by the Contractor when attending the integration and testing activities. Participate to Technical Management Meetings Technical meetings related to data processing systems, including the PGFs related ones Weekly PDP andor DPI andor PGFs Suppliers meetings Weekly Client EPSSG PDP Team meeting Biweekly Client EPSSG PDAP Team meeting 6weekly PDP Progress Meetings held between the PDAP and PDP suppliers 6weekly PDAP Progress Meetings held between Client and the PDAP Supplier Other meetings, as necessary and as agreed by Client. Tasks The engineering service shall cover the following service requirements Tasks related to data processing engineering in support of the Data Processing Systems Applications DPSA team. Followup on the ground segment facility suppliers activities Review of the data pack delivered for the reviews Support preparation of EUMETSAT deliverables to other Contractors Participation in other Contractors reviews in the frame of PDR, CDR, acceptance of different version of ground segment o Support for the Data pack for the OGS CDR and possibly other intermediate checkpoints Support of the relevant OGS and System activities Technical baseline engineering monitoring and update Tests and acceptance phases preparation Provide expertise in data processing engineering Contribute to raising, processing and coordinating RIDs in the documentation provided by the prime contractor of the ground segment facility in the different reviews that will take place in the different programmes. Contribute and participate on request to progress meetings Contribute to technical meetings, scheduling, and planning coordination meetings. Participate in data processing team meetings and associated activities and reviews where required in the area of data processing system engineering inside of DPSA CA. Contribute and participate on request to dedicated technical workshops Provide training, through written materials, practical demonstrations and presentations, to other parties involved in the related projects including controllers, analysts and engineers. Undertake training identified as necessary to become familiar with the system and be able to perform their tasks Become familiar with the ground segment facility usage, setup, configuration and installation once delivered by the prime contractor. Summary We are looking for System Engineers to support system engineering activities for Data Processing systems, MultiMission systems and Ground Segment level systems for existing and future missions.
