This is an opportunity for a motivated and experienced engineer to work for our EUMETSAT customer within a new and interesting space mission. Sentinel3 is a Low Earth Orbiting mission in the context of the Copernicus Services set up by the European Commission. The first satellite, Sentinel3A, is expected to launch mid2015 with the second satellite Sentinel3B operating in tandem and due for launch 18 months later. EUMETSATs monitors and controls Sentinel 3 satellites and generates near realtime and offline products to support the marine user community. PROFILE The Products Formats and Test Data Test Tools engineer shall support the Sentinel3 Operations with respect to EUMETSATs Marine Payload Data Ground Segment PDGS in particular anomaly correction and software release process maintenance and necessary evolutions, including the necessary coordination with the data processing systems engineering and the multimission element engineers for the related interfaces with the rest of the Sentinel3 ground segment. TASKS EXPERIENCE The engineer should have the following background 5 years experience in testing and maintaining product formats and formatters, test data and tests tools for large scale software systems missioninstrument data processing related. Experience in engineering evolutions of such software, test data and tools is also required. Knowledge and experience is required of software development lifecycles, system testing for Earth observation systems and use of test data and tools for supporting this, Knowledge and experience is required of formats and associated formatters used in Earth observation e.g. netCDF for marine applications and also used in other communities including HDF, BUFR and GRIB.
