Summary An opportunity for an experienced System Modelling Engineer to work onsite at ESTEC for Telespazio VEGA UK. Objective To provide support in the Section for System Modelling and Functional Verification in the DTEC Directorate in the area of system performance evaluation and system and architecture modelling. Responsibilities Duties Duties will include but are not limited to Support in system and architecture modelling. System modelling in support of finalising the system description subject to evaluation. Support to the requirements engineering and the subsequent verification and validation activities at system and software level. Some activities in Endtoend performance simulators for space missions, in terms of the related simulator development software, processor development for data products and formalisation of corresponding simulator for data products and formalisation of corresponding simulator architectures in the areas of Space Science and Earth Observation. Qualifications Experience Masters degree or equivalent qualification in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent. The candidate should have practical experience of system modelling. Experience of TOGAF enterprise architecture standard is highly desirable. Experience of system modelling with formal methods e.g. SysML is desired. Experience in system requirements and verification engineering. Good knowledge of related methods and tools. Experience of simulator development, functional and performance is an asset. Experience in spacecraft system engineering is advisable. Essential Skills Good English language skills Excellent interpersonal skills. Good organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a diverse team environment. Objective To support all relevant thermal systems design and analysis requirements. Objective To support the EarthCARE satellite project with all AITAIV requirements. Responsibilities Duties Duties will include but not limited to Participation in the Review of the documentation related to the Instruments and Satellite AITAIV e.g. plans, test specifications, test procedures and participate in the Verification Control document evaluation Monitoring and control of system level test activities e.g participation to test reviews, test readiness, test boards, NRBs, attendance to test execution and the instruments integration and testing on the spacecraft. Provide AIT reports as required Monitoring and control of the industrial activities related to the maintenance of the ground support equipment, including the instrument AITAIV and corresponding ground support equipment as well as their adequacy to support System Level Verification Support to Satellite, Instruments Reviews in the areas of EGSE, AIT and AIV Support to the launch campaign preparation, monitoring and control of all integration and test activities at the launch site Early identification of problem areas and support to their resolution Support the review and definition of the in flight and onground calibration and characterisation activities from an EGSEAIT viewpoint. In the execution of his tasks, the AITAIVEGSE Engineer will liaise closely with other members of the EarthCARE AIV section and the rest of the EarthCARE project. In performing his tasks, he will be further supported by experts from the Technical Directorate as required. The function will require availability of the incumbent to witness tests and to participate to AIT activities for relative long periods abroad incl. Japan, up to several months in the case of the satellite launch campaign. Qualifications Experience Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent experience. Good experience in system testing and payloads functional tests would constitute an additional asset. A proven ability to work in a project team with a sense of cooperation and negotiation with colleagues at ESA or within Industry is also required.
