Summary An opportunity for an experienced Materials and Processes Evaluation Engineer to work onsite at ESA, Harwell for Telespazio VEGA UK Objective To provide support for the Materials and Processes Section for projects where Product Assurance and Safety Managers are based at ECSAT, primarily in the area of processing, testing and performance evaluation of metallic materials and in the areas of Additive Manufacturing and PCB testing. Responsibilities Duties Duties will include but are not limited to The laboratory tasks shall especially cover End to end process evaluation for additive manufacturing, including raw material specification and product performance mechanical testing, NDI, etc. Destructive and nondestructive PCB testing. Additional tasks shall cover Provide materials and processes support for projects where product assurance and safety managers are located at ECSAT, including participation to projects meeting, reviews and audits Support Materials and Processes reviews, Materials and Processes Control Boards MPCBs and participate as Engineering andor PA Board Member in ESA Programme reviews milestones including PRRs, SRRs, PDRs, CDRs, QARs, FRRs, etc. Review Declared Materials, Parts and Processes Lists DMLs, DPLs, and DMPLs as well as RFAs, RFDsRFWs, ECPs, etc. Support major NonConformances Review Board activities, perform failure analysis and failure investigation using a variety of laboratory tools Support the definition and implementation of the Research and Technology activities in the domain of advanced manufacturing Support the evaluation of proposals for technology RD activities on their technical merit, consistency and priorities and recommendation for ESA endorsement Support the coordination of technology RD activities, monitoring of the procurement implementation, evaluation and reporting of the achieved results and lessons learnt to the relevant ESA Directorates and key Partners The technical competence shall especially cover Processing e.g. joining, surface treatments, testing, and performance evaluation of metallic materials e.g. Alalloys, Tialloys, steel Additive manufacturing processes and associated test and qualification approaches Qualifications Experience Masters degree or equivalent qualification in materials engineering and science, materials physicsmetallurgy andor nonmetallic materials or another related field, as well as several years industrial experience Good knowledge about general materials test methodologies and especially experience in mechanical testing. Experience in defining and executing test plans for materials qualification and process validation Capability to take decisions for selection of materials and processes for space applications. Essential Skills Good English language skills Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to present and effectively communicate quality system processes. Good organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work in a diverse team environment. Candidates must be eligible for security clearance from their national security administration. Are you interested in working on Materials and Processes that are used for the manufacture of Airbus spacecraft? Then this is the role for you! A vacancy for a Materials Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence Space to work on the design, manufacture and testing of space flight hardware in Stevenage. Were looking for a Materials Engineer with extensive knowledge and experience of materials metallic, nonmetallics and organics who will provide technical leadership from Materials and Processes perspective throughout the life cycle of the satellite. You will act as the final MP interface with shop floor, Project Team and with end Customer. The successful candidate will need to be eligible to gain UK SC Security Clearance to undertake the role. Act as technical authority for the qualification of materials and processes review of qualification test plansreports and interpretation of data. A vacancy for a Materials Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence Space to work on space flight hardware in Stevenage, within the Materials Department. You will contribute to providing technical solutions to materials related issues which arise during the design, manufacture and test of flight hardware and the team mission of assuring correct materials qualification for mission specific requirements. Materials Quality Engineer

Summary An opportunity for an engineer experienced in laboratory audits to work onsite at ESTEC for Telespazio VEGA UK. This is a 6 month fixed term contract. Objective To provide support at the Section for Radiation Hardness Assurance and Component Analysis in close collaboration with the Laboratory Technical Administrator. Provide support on the Laboratory QMS incl. audits and Information Management System and Infrastructure investmentmaintenance implementation. Responsibilities Duties Duties will include but are not limited to In collaboration and support of the Laboratory Technical Administrator to perform auditing of the QMS Laboratory in accordance with relevant quality standards, in accordance with ISO9000. To provide support with respect to the infrastructure and maintenance of the laboratory, and the relevant Quality Management Systems and databases. The laboratory uses a variety of laboratory tools, including acoustic microscopy, optical microscopy, scanning microscopy, confocal microscopy, XRD, XRay imaging, NDI etc., XPS, surface tension, Auger Microscopy, Raman Spectroscopy, Atomic Force Microscopy, IST Testing. Support the laboratory equipment procurement definition and implementation Qualifications Experience Masters degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering field as well as several years proven auditing experience using ISO9000 and the relevant quality standards preferably covering aerospace hardware. Knowledge of ISO 17025 related testing activities and ability to carry out testing and analysis in an ISO 17025 or other Quality Management System applicable standards.
