JOB DESCRIPTION Spacecraft Operations Manager Responsibilities Duties Tasks The Spacecraft Operations Manager SOM is responsible for the definition, implementation and execution of all mission operations activities. His responsibilities encompass the requirements definition for operational facilities and software, operations preparation, generation and validation of Flight Operation Procedures, LEOP operations timeline, operational databases, displays and onboard software maintenance tool and procedures. The SOM is also responsible for execution of spacecraft operations, onboard software maintenance and inorbit mission evaluations and preparation and execution of System Compatibility Test Campaign SCTC activities. The SOM is also directly involved in the operational decision making in the event that spacecraft anomalies occur. The operational facilities, tools and products required to support a GALILEO LEOP SOYUZ have already been developed and operationally validated with the 1st GALILEO FOC LEOP Aug2014, as a consequence the service mainly focus on preventive and corrective maintenance of the operations facilities, tools and products, and on preparation and execution of LEOP. GALILEO LEOP are conducted alternatively from ESOC Control Centre and CNES Control Centre Toulouse. Each shift is composed of a mixed team i.e. team members from ESOC and CNES The duration between 2 LEOP is either 3months if the next launch is a SOYUZ Launch 2 spacecraft or 6 months if the next launch is an ARIANE5 launch 4 spacecraft. For each SOYUZ LEOP 2 SOM out of a pool of 4 will be assigned one out of 2 from ESOC, one out of 2 from CNES.
