EUMETSAT is Europes meteorological satellite agency monitoring the weather and climate from space 24 hours a day, 365 days a year EUMETSAT operates a growing fleet of Earth Observation satellites in Low Earth and geostationary orbits currently comprising seven EUMETSAT Meteosat Second Generation and Metop satellites, Copernicus Sentinel3 and JasonCS satellites. In parallel, EUMETSAT is working towards the launch of the next generation of Meteosat Third Generation and Metop Second Generation satellites. Reporting to the Head of the Realtime Services System Operations RSO Division and supported by a dedicated team of engineers, the Data Access Systems Operations Manager coordinates the routine operations of the EUMETSAT Near Real Time NRT data access systems, and assists with operations preparation activities related to future data access systems. This role is rooted in the mission of EUMETSAT and will provide the opportunity to work with leading IT, Space and Earth Observation organisations and domain experts to make a positive impact on society! Duties Manage a team of operations engineers and service contracts, ensuring efficient and effective use of team resources, including allocation delegation of tasks Conduct the routine operations of the Data Access systems ensuring the operational services availability as specified in the Operational Service Specifications Operational management, scheduling and coordination of the Operational Data Access systems Monitoring of delivered service performance levels Responsibility for the evolution of the Multichannel NRT data access baseline Technical management of the EUMETCast Service Contracts Focal point for all technical interactions with the service providers Followup of any anomalies or incidents with the service providers Develop the transition plans for the introduction of new contracts as appropriate Plan for the evolution of the system to accommodate new requirements. Working with the Technical and Scientific Support TSS Department and the User Support and Climate Services Division, ensure that the Data Access systems evolve to match users needs, including the validation of new and upgraded systems Support the Programme Development Department PRD in the Operations Preparations activities for future programmes including MTG and EPSSG Act as deputy of Head of RSO Division, as required.
