A vacancy for a Supply Operations Manager SOM for Propulsion equipments has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Stevenage. You will be the primary interface with the nominated suppliers and responsible for the relationship between the supplier and Airbus DS. You will be fully responsible for managing the purchasing phase of the supply chain core process and deliver equipments, software or test services to projects on time, to cost and fulfilling all performance and quality requirements. The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include I Procurement Phase Support the procurement phase Phase B of the supply process preparation of Invitation To Tender ITT packages, supplier proposal evaluation, supplier negotiation and selection for different projects. II Purchasing Phase Drive OQ OT OC delivery from suppliers by effective daytoday management of subcontract typically multiproject, international contracts timely and accurate reporting to PSMs facilitate appropriate technical interaction between project MSC and supplier. Coordinate the interfaces of all the stakeholders involved in the supplier management process procurement, technical, quality EEE parts material processes, commercial contract. Responsibility for driving the EQSR, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, TRBSRB DRB process equipment category dependent. Management of NCRs and RFWD and chairing of NRBs. Coordinate specialist quality interfaces for MIPs, EEE, radiation and MP. Monitor the progress of the supplier and agree corrective action as necessary in close liaison with the project engineering, product assurance, contracts and project office. Acquiring indepth knowledge of supplier leading to more effective control. Identify in close liaison with the project team and the supplier appropriate risks covering technical, schedule and commercial aspects. Ensure implementation of mitigation actions by the supplier. Ensure fulfilment of export control regulations such as ITAR. Maintain metrics related to the execution of the contract schedule, quality, cost. III General Completion of annual supplier evaluation with appropriate support. Local followupsupport to development plans defined by SDM. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience HNDDegree in a MechanicalElectroMechanical Engineering related discipline. Proven experience in a Supply Chain Procurement environment within the Aerospace industry. Proven backgroundexperience in Propulsion. Proven experienced as Subcontract Manager or Project Manager. Strong leadership, facilitation and organisational skills. Focused on results OT OQ OC Delivery to a high standard. Strong communication, commercial negotiation skills. Relationship builder pulling through added value from supplier. Understanding of Quality Management and Product Assurance. You will provide dedicated support to management of waveguides multiproject planning, coordination of design releases to suppliers, reporting of industrial status, compliance with cost, schedule and quality targets. You will provide support to Prepare for Assembly and Supply Chain teams and participate in schedule and cost improvement initiatives within Airbus and with suppliers. This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Engineering background with proven experience in a DefenceAerospace environment. Proven experience in Procurement or Specifying andor Purchasing Machined Parts is mandatory. Working knowledge of ERPMRP tools ideally SAP. Knowledge of product assurance principles and quality systems such as AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 would be a plus. Awareness of appropriate standards for space, ESA, ECSS, DSCC, MIL. Good knowledge of CADM processes would be a strong asset. Advanced capabilities with Microsoft office applications is mandatory. Ability to communicate and to coordinate at all levels is required. You will be dealing with changing priorities and daily challenges, this dynamic and essential role is vital to ensuring multiproject schedule adherence via the instigation of long term working plans for the operational team and infrastructure. You will manage of a team of up to 50 operators to ensure successful delivery of major satellite contracts in line with agreed schedules, to budget and on quality. Manage and coordinate all assembly activities in the cleanroom, by deploying lean organisation enforcing company policies including 5S audits, Health and Safety, and specification of maintenance. Define and manage capital investment CAPEX for improvement and upkeep of the cleanroom, tooling and furniture. Interface with team leaders daily for project reporting, priorities, escalation, resource requirements, and variances. Oversee daily schedule adherence, management of assembly operational work packages and work package variance reporting to the internal customer AIT Project Manager. Responsible for assembly operator quality during operations and enforcing the use of AIT procedures and processes. Key customer for all engineering processes and encouraging team to think creatively and provide continuous feedback for improvement. Support and ensure attendance to lessons learnt sessions at project completion. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Minimum of HNC level in a Mechanical Manufacturing discipline with extensive experience in Assembly or Production environment. Experience of Operations Management, Production Manufacturing Management. Proven Management or Team Leading experience. Previous Budget responsibility, experience in Cost and Resources Management. Good knowledge of Lean manufacturing techniques including 5S, Continuous Improvement. Experience with working in a high quality driven process orientated engineering organisation. Previous experience of telecoms payload builds would be desirable. Knowledge and understanding of clean room manufacturing. Knowledge of Health and Safety principles and their application to the specific environment would be desirable. Basic understanding of RF properties and associated risks would be desirable.
