It employs some 40,000 employees generating revenues of approximately 14 billion per year. A vacancy for a Senior AOCSGNC Architect has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Stevenage. The successful applicant will join the Flight Dynamics and AOCSGNC Department. The AOCS Architect is responsible for ensuring AOCS development activities are performed on quality, on time and on cost. You will ensure that AOCS activities are properly coordinated across the whole project, that agreed schedule is maintained, and that all activities are successfully completed within the defined budgets. You will be expected to guide, review and approve AOCSGNC design and analysis activities through the full engineering lifecycle from initial concept design through to support to validation, producing the associated documentation design justifications, SW requirements for AOCSGNC algorithms, performance analysis documentation etc.. The AOCS architect also proactively manages the subcontract. The job is a challenging and exciting mix of systems engineering including HW sensors and actuators knowhow, control engineering, project management and subcontract management. The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Responsibility for managing the subcontractor in what relates to the Spacecraft AOCS System Design, Development, Implementation, Performance and Validation. SupportingShadow the procurement of the AOCS sensors actuators, checking approving performance analyses, and supporting the Software and System Validation Verification with Hardware in the loop. Analyse the Functional Verification test results and assess if the AOCS verification is achieved. Support the Software Architect during the Software reviews on items related to AOCS. Interface with customer, systems engineering team, project management and subcontractors. Control AOCS budget and schedule, define risks and risk mitigation strategies. This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Good degree or equivalent in Dynamics and Control Engineering or MathematicsPhysics Qualifications with Electrical andor Mechanical content Proven experience within the Space industry including AOCSGNC Team leading experience and leadership skills Significant Matlab and Simulink experience Mathematical modelling Computer simulations Software development in C or C Proven experience in Subcontract management Package management cost control processes Experience managing a lot of interfaces General computer literacy, including MS Office Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to interact comfortably within a team environment. One of our clients in the UK is looking for a Senior Project Manager. It is a permanent role. Key Tasks Project Management Daytoday management of the project core team activities to ensure the entire project is progressing in line with the baseline plan. Communication with customers and internal stakeholders, including Heads of Business, Head of Projects, Engineering Team Leaders and Department Managers, Project Accounting and Commercial teams. Management of the major project reviews, identifying clear objectives, inputs, outputs and success criteria. Management of the project key risks to ensure that risks are identified, captured and mitigation actions in place. Monitoring and control of the project finances contingency, cost to complete, profit take to ensure the project is delivered within the agreed budget. Monitoring and control of all project work packages to ensure they are delivered on time and to cost, and to identify early deviations from the agreed baseline plan. Your Role Degree or equivalent in an engineering or technical subject would be preferable. Proven experience in project management specifically in setting up, running and successfully delivering projects, ideally in a satellite or engineeringaerospace industry. Good experience of implementing contracts. Familiarity with work package systems and matrix management structure preferable. Proven experience in project management in an engineeringaerospace industry. Excellent interpersonal skills able to influence, persuade and negotiate with all levels of people effectively. Understand contracts and product assurance plans. Ability to cope under pressure and ensure deadlines are met. Strong attention to detail. Good organisation skills.
