RHEA is currently recruiting a Ground Segment System Engineer in support to MTG development in the MED Division at our clients premises in Darmstadt, Germany. Tasks and Activities In the role of support to the development of MTG ground segment, your primary tasks and activities shall include Analysis of the MTG requirements on the MultiMission Elements and contributing to the definition of the design specification for the MultiMission Elements Definition of the system architecture and interfaces between the MultiMission Elements and the other elements of the MTG ground segment Performing engineering budgets and analysing impacts of changes in the MultiMission Elements on the MTG ground segment architecture and interfaces and on the operations and maintenance of existing operational ground segments Contributing to the generation of System Design Documents and Interface Control Documents Providing support to the definition of the AIV approach for the MultiMission Elements, including the generation of Test Plan and Test Procedures Participating to MTG projects reviews PDR, CDR, etc... Promoting and ensuring the implementation of the maintainability requirements and standards defined by OPS for the future programmes. In the role of support to the maintenance activities of the operational programmes, the tasks and activities shall include Maintenance, for all the operational ground systems, of a complete and consistent set of system level design documentation, also in relation with the other teams within MED Performing technical analysis of system architecture and specification for evolutions or major upgrades of the operational ground systems, in order to ensure coherence and compatibility with other ongoing developments Coordination of resolution of system technical issues across the different teams, accomplishing synergisticreference architectures technologies, by dynamically supporting the different System designs Definition of the system testing approach for major evolutions of the operational ground systems and contribution to the coordination of the installation, integration and verification of new systems into the Operational infrastructure In support to the MED System Authority Group, performing the review of Engineering Change Proposals ECPs and configuration change requests, in preparation for the weekly ECP Review Board and daily CRB meetings. Skills and Experience In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, you shall have at least five years experience in the following areas Full development cycle of systems, from the definition of requirements to system design and testing Maintenance of operational ground systems, preferably for remote sensing spacecrafts System Engineering AIT experience for the development of major upgrades new ground systems in a 247 operational environment. In addition, for the accomplishment of the listed tasks, proven knowledge and experience in at least two of the following missions ground segment areas are mandatory Nearrealtime data processing Archive systems Nearreal time data dissemination. The following skills would be highly desirable. Ground Segment Monitoring and Control systems Ground Stations System architectural design with the support of modelling and design tools e.g. Enterprise Architect Definition, management and traceability of requirements structure with the support of dedicated tools e.g. DOORS Configuration Control processes and tools Familiarity with the ECSS standards. Satellite ground segment network solution engineering throughout its lifecycle, from identification of needs to deployment, with a focus on Cisco technology and solutions. Working in and applying the above skills in highavailability, alwayson production environments, driven by high availability requirements. Interacting with suppliers of network products and services. Supporting procurements of network services. For supporting documentation tasks, experience is required with Microsoft Office Suite, including MSVisio. Support, acting as Review secretary, the formal project Reviews and Check Points, ensuring that the relevant applicable Procedures and methods are correctly implemented. Support the MTG GS Facilities procurement activities and the connected processes, in line with the applicable QA documentation and requirements. After the selection of the GS Facilities successful bidders, support QA activities during the Facilities development and production process, interfacing with the EUMETSAT Technical Officers, the relevant crossdivisional Teams and with the Industry PAQA counterparts in order to fulfil the targets identified through the assigned work packages. Ensure implementation of the agreed QA Plans and procedures within the Industry activities, including Subtiers. Support the preparation and conduct of QA audits on Industry and within EUMETSAT in the areas connected with MTG GS activities, in line with the MTG GS Contractors Suppliers Quality Assurance Audit Plan. Provide advice on any critical issue arising on the ongoing GEO programmes activities. Provide regular reporting to the MTG GS QA Engineer and to the GEO QA Team Leader on all aspects related to MTG GS QA activities. Attend and support the weekly MTG QA Team coordination meetings. Required Skills and Experience The Key person is required to have the skills, capability and experience level adequate to ensure the fulfilment of the assigned tasks with a high degree of autonomy. University degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Sciences or a related discipline is required. At least 5 years of specific work experience in the Quality Assurance area. Specific experience on QA on satellite Ground Segments and on data processing field will be considered an advantage. Work experience and skills matured on highly complex systems and products HWSW in advanced technology sectors will also be considered. Significant handson experience in QA processes definition, implementation, monitoring and control. Knowledge and application experience on international QAPA standards, specific knowledge of aerospacespace standards is considered a plus. Direct experience in providing QA support to procurement contracts for complex products. Experience in providing QA support to SW products throughout their complete development lifecycle, specifically on data processing and science products development. Experience on HWSW products integration. Significant handson experience in using Microsoft Office Suite and in particular with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
