We are currently looking for a Development Engineer for Thermal Analysis to support our customer in Germany. Development Engineer for Thermal Analysis Key Tasks and Responsibilities You will have the following responsibilities Performance of development and analysis tasks for science and earth observation satellites in the area of the thermal control system of satellites Development and thermal design of the thermal control system, its subsystems and components Performance of thermal analyses, satellites and their components Performance of plausibility checks and hand calculation to validate the analysis results Simulation, preparation and surveillance of thermal tests like thermal vacuum and thermal balance tests of satellites and their components Creation of geometrical mathematical models and performance of thermal analyses Application of the software packages Thermica, ESARAD and ESATAN Documentation and archiving of all activities, mathematical models and analysis and test results. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University Degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent Expertise in conductive and radiative heat transfer processes Very good knowledge of the standard thermal analysis tools Good knowledge of thermal material properties and thermal hardware Knowledge of orbit mechanics and solar systems Strong background in numerical analysis methods Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Development Engineer for Mechanical Analysis Key Tasks and Responsibilities You will have the following responsibilities Performance of static and dynamic mechanical analyses of science and earth observation satellites and their components Performance of mechanical stability performance analyses for space instruments and highly stable structures for space applications Mapping of thermal analysis on mechanical mathematical models and performance of thermal distortion analyses Performance of stress, strength and buckling analyses for structural components of satellites Performance of nonlinear mechanical analyses of structural components of satellites and multi body simulations Simulation and surveillance of vibration tests of satellites and their components Creation of static and dynamic mathematical models using the Finite Element Method FEM Creation of reduced mathematical models Application of the pre and postprocessing software PATRAN and the FEM solver NASTRAN Documentation and archiving of all activities, mathematical models and analysis and test results Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University Degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent Professional experience in structural dynamics of light weight structures Detailed knowledge of the Finite Element Method and the corresponding tools, e.g. prepostprocessors and solvers Fluency in English and German is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
