Technician for Mechanical Integration

We are currently looking for a Technician for Mechanical Integration to support our customer in Germany. Technician for Mechanical Integration Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Assembly and Integration team, you will have the following responsibilities Assembly of space systems components, following specific assembly procedures Acceptance of assignments with several different work contents Planning of the work sequence according to the specifications and when necessary in coordination the different departments Determination of the assembly sequence and execution of mechanical preassembly and final assembly of space systems elements as well as their electrical and electronic components in observance to the timecost and quality requirements Execution of the necessary functionality test also through diagnostic systems Search and correction of defects, when necessary in coordination the different departments Technical documentation i.e. measuring results, implemented installation and utilisation variations, and forwarding of the deviations to the responsible centre Handover of the assembled device to the internal customer including explanation of the functionalities and delivery of completion certificates. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Professional Education as Technician Previous professional experience in Mechanical Assembly Technical understanding of Mechanisms and system elements of satellites and space crafts Mechanic integration of satellites as well as knowledge of standard procedures within the aerospace industry in an advantage Fluency in English is mandatory the knowledge of the German language is an advantage. You will perform mechanical integration harness wiring and performance testing of satellite payloads. The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Perform payload equipment component receiving inspection, preparation kits, assembly installation for test andor flight configuration. Waveguide and Units Assembly on various thermal fillers, encompassing skilled fitting operations Document and complete work according to company procedures SignoffComplete daily integration log and Work Instruction Connectivity Log, etc. Perform tie base installation using various 2 part adhesives Prepare, use, apply, handle and dispose of chemical and hazardous substances such as thermal filler, silver epoxy, Araldite, Electrodag and Solithane Perform Mechanical Ground Support Equipment handling and lifting operations Prepare, clean, route, secure and mating torque flight and test RF coax cables DC harnesses installation and removal of DC Cannon connectors Know and perform harnesssecuring methods such as fibreglass taping, tie wraps, lacing chord, tie bases. Experience of torque methods order and value Thread and fillet locking methods Solithane, Scotchweld, DP490 Calibrate and properly use torque tools crimp tools mechanical and harness and required hardware Understand technical documents Drawings, procedures, technical notes, etc Keep Integration areas tools, toolboxes, workstations, etc clean and tidy 5S Use the machine shop for minor fabrication, modification and repair Working as a member of an AIT team with electrical and mechanical specialists whose objective is to produce world leading satellite payloads Support On Shift work 50100 of the time for all hours 7 days a week onsite and perform offsite operations as required. Work hours will include periods of normal day work and 2 or 3 shift systems including weekend working. This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Minimum of HNC level in Manufacturing or Production discipline Recognised Mechanical Fitter technician level apprenticeship Working background in Mechanical Assembly, Electrical Integration Proven handson experience in Assembly, Manufacturing or Production environment within the Aerospace industry Experience with working in a high quality driven process orientated engineering organisation Hands on experience RF Assembly including COAX and Wave Guide Experience with MultiLayer Insulation Machine Shop trained Experience of Lean engineering knowledge of process improvement, Quality and manufacturing process documentation Clean room experience Advanced level of English.
