In the EUMETSAT matrix organisation, the Generic Systems and Infrastructure Division GSI is responsible for engineering, maintaining and upgrading all multimission ground segment functions, services, infrastructure and tools used across operational satellite systems and the development of new satellite systems. The Network and Maintenance Engineer supports the design, planning, development, deployment and maintenance of these operational network infrastructure services and solutions. What youll be doing Design, implement and deliver scalable network solutions with the associated infrastructure, fulfilling the availability, resilience and security requirements of the current operational systems Act as an expert providing advice and support to the Network Services team concerning complex technology issues. Contribute to defining and maintaining the evolution roadmap for the EUMETSAT communication network infrastructure. Secure the operational continuity as part of the evolution planning Translate specific service needs of internal customers into network system requirements Coordinate the service provisioning of EUMETSAT communication network systems, including 2nd3rd level maintenance, problem investigation and resolution Interact with suppliers of network products and services as subject matter expert. Skills and Experience Proven experience in the engineering and maintenance of communication networks supporting a highavailability, 247 operational environment Experience in designing, developing and deploying network solutions and services according to recognised standards Experience in establishing servicelevel agreements SLAs with internal customers, monitoring service performance and ensuring service implementation and delivery Indepth knowledge of Cisco technology, services and solutions Experience with the major Wide Area Network WAN technologies, monitoring WAN performance and troubleshooting problems. Experience with Local Area Network LAN engineering and operational support. Experience in coordination of industry support activities would be an advantage Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical information into customer terminology Effective teamworking skills with a strong customer focus and experience working in a service driven environment. LSE Space GmbH is looking for a Software Engineer mfd to work within the Software Engineering Team in our headquarters office close to MunichGermany to support the Maintenance Team on the Galileo Ground Segment Level 2 software maintenance. The core L2 maintenance tasks will be Support to AIV campaigns for the Galileo Ground Control Segment Definition of test documentation including maintenance of the documentation Support to the preparation and execution of the NonRegression System Validation Test Campaigns Support the operations team and the other maintenance teams Level 1 and Level 3 for problem management, system restoration, vulnerability management and handling of security incidents Provide inputs to Service Asset and Configuration Management activities, including maintaining the configuration via the provided tools Support all milestone reviews related to the handover of the L2L3 maintenance activities Support the design of endtoend integrated maintenance and troubleshooting environments for Galileo systems Provision of inputs to the release strategy for minor and major evolutions of the GCS infrastructure Academic requirements a University or similar degree in computer science, engineering or similar discipline. Skills Familiar with IT systems, like webbased applications and server hardware Experience on application deployment on Linux systems Basic knowledge in languages such as Java, C, C or Python Experience with databases desirable Systemminded and a team player Able to work in an interdisciplinary team Experience in ground system AIV campaigns and in ground system operations is a plus Selfstarter, able to work independently with little or no supervision in a small team Fluent in English, both in speech and writing German language skills would be a plus Benefits A permanent employment contract.
