US apparel imports have been very strong in March with shipments from China sharply falling however, and imports surging by contrast from other nations like Vietnam. Higher production costs and the threat of heavier import tariffs could have triggered a decisive decision to progressively leave China to the benefit of a series of low-income countries. Polyester Chain Prices: PX, PTA, MEG and Fiber Prices (Weekly Report)

Raw material costs of polyester producers have remained firm in the past seven days, due to tight supply in India. New PTA capacities will however be launched in the coming period in China, which could result in lower prices. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono-ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices. Asian Contract Prices (ACPs) are also available for the PX, PTA and MEG markets in Asia, with 5-year charts and downloadable historical data.

Cambodia Apparel Exports in 4th Quarter and Full 2018 (Country Report)

Cambodia's apparel exports have further surged in 2018, being actually tripled in the past ten years. Exports to the European Union have continued sharply rising, but are now threatened by a possible withdrawal of their duty-free access. A return to 12% import tariffs would not significantly reduce Cambodian exports, according to a just published report by the World Bank. Current uncertainties could however benefit Vietnam and Bangladesh in the short term. Our statistical tables offer a comprehensive view of overall Cambodia's apparel exports in the past 10 years and exports per destination in the last 5 years. EU and US imports from Cambodia in 4th quarter 2018 are also available, with percentage changes being calculated in volume and value terms. Unit prices are available for a large number of product categories. All data can be downloaded covering a 5-year period from 2013.
