The Position We are looking to strengthen our team with an Operations Engineering and Project Management Support Officer. This position is within the Payload Operations Engineering Services ensuring Payload and Operations Engineering support for the ESA ISS Operations Team HREOO. This position is fulltime and is based at Columbus Control Center ColCC in Oberpfaffenhofen Germany. Provision of the service at ESA sites involved in ISS operations ESTEC or EAC can also be negotiated. The preferred starting date will be 01 November 2021. Your Responsibilities Support operational assessment of the execution of ISS operations activities in support of the Certification of Flight Readiness CoFR. This includes preparation of verbal CoFR assessment, provision of Minutes of Meetings as well as HREOO CoFR statement. Review of CoFR instruction letter. Participation to CoFR Technical Interchange Meetings TIMs and Increment Coordination Meetings ICMs as requested. Organise HREOO CoFR activities and meetings according to CoFR management plan. Support investigations for Anomaly resolution and operations concept definitions and operational assessments as required. Support ESA ISS Operations Control Board OCB by acting as secretary for meeting and agenda management as well as action item tracking follow up in close coordination with ESA OCB chair. Also precoordination of technical matters for decision making, attendance and notes taking of the discussion and decisions. Also Prepare OCB Minutes of Meetings. Coordinate NASA ISS programme documents Change Request reviews by distributing the related NASA CR documentation to operations experts for review and GatherConsolidateDispositionProvide list of comments to NASA through ESA CN desk. Support Payload assignment process to operations centers by performing a payload data analysisCompilation for monitoring operational requirements, operations and efficiency. This includes maintainupdatecreation of HREOO USOC and Operations Center Assignment memodocument. Attendprovide inputs to yearly Performance Review of the Operations Centres. Provision of Minutes of Meetings. AssessAnalyse the USOCs Payloads and Integrated Team systems status as well as followup the USOCs Integrated Teams Risk Assessments. Coordinate ISS operational topics with ESA and ISS partner teams for matters related to engineering integration, payload integration and programme support. Represent the ESA operations community advocating operational benefits and recommendation towards other teams and partners. CoordinateMonitor activities of the Science Data Center SDC service as the HRE and Operations Centers for long term archiving activities. This includes analysis of schedule, monitoringcoordinating data transfer activities between SDC and the USOCs, and support decision making for archiving ISS data. ReviewEvaluate SDC providing archiving process documentation for ISS and other platforms eg. Gateway. Provision of weekly and quarterly basis reports summarizing all activities supported and performed including recommendations on issues and risks observed. Qualification and Experience Masters degree or equivalent in Engineering or Science. First experience in operations roles or management roles, preferably in ISS Columbus operations. At least one year working experience in an international organization, preferably in Europe. Of course, you are easily understanding the relating physics processes in such satellite instruments. Essential Skills Good English language skills, including generating reports and clear concise minutes of meeting. Excellent organizational skills, with focus on schedule, meeting deadlines. Good teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills. Analytic skills, integrating several sources of information to provide an assessment and recommendations. Readiness to take on responsibility, work under pressure. NonEssential Skills Knowledge of ISS domain. German language skills is an asset. ELT Documentation and Configuration Management Officer

The ELT Documentation and Configuration Management Officer works under the guidance of the ELT Programme and System Engineers in managing the document archive and the product configuration repositories of the ELT Programme, to ensure that they are updated and accessible by the users whilst meeting required standards of accuracy, quality and integrity and enforces the documentation and configuration management processes as defined within the Programme. Main Duties and Responsibilities The ELT Documentation and Configuration Management Officer is responsible, together with the ELT Document Controller, for keeping the ELT document archive updated according to the Programme evolution as well as for processing, archiving and making the documents available to the authorised users, in a timely, accurate and efficient manner. The ELT Documentation and Configuration Management Officer will also act as backup for the Document Controller during absence. HeShe contributes as well to keep the configuration of the ELT products properly under control. The responsibilities of the ELT Documentation and Configuration Management Officer include Administer the ELT document archive through the ESO Product Data Management tool PDM by generating and maintaining folder structures, updating metadata and populating the folders according to the Programme evolution Perform the quality control of documents, in particular checking the correctness of reference documentsversions, that the proper standard templates and lifecycles are used and that the configuration control rules relevant for documentation management are observed Work in strict cooperation with the Work Package Managers and the Systems Engineering Team to ensure that the ESO documentation for procurements as well as the documentation provided by contractors is correctly stored in the ESO PDM system Prepare Contract Data Lists CDL for procurements with the support of Systems Engineering and the Work Package Managers Support the Work Package Managers in the processing and archiving of the documentation submitted by contractors or consortia cooperating with their documentation specialists ensuring it complies with the ELT documentation management requirements Grant authorized users access to the archived documents in accordance with the defined confidentiality policies Ensure that the ELT document archive is effectively used by continuously supporting and mentoring the users Ensure that the documents go through a traceable and approved release process before being archived Proactively propose improvements of existing documentation processes and suggest new ones to enhance quality or efficiency within the documentation management system Coordinate with the ESO Information Repository Manager and System Administrator any required needs for additional features of the PDM tool and report anomalies and bugs Coordinate with ESO Information Repository Manager and System Administrator user licenses, access groups and access profiles. In addition, the ELT Documentation and Configuration Management Officer will Support the tasks related to the management of the ELT products configuration, by essentially keeping the repositories updated with the relevant information Support the management of the ELT products location Contribute to optimize the configuration and location management processes and the associated tools Assist the Work Package Managers to ensure that the configuration managements processes are properly followed Occasionally provide support for administrative tasks duty travel organisation, purchase orders, shipping requests, etc. The tasks are not limited to the above and a flexible approach and willingness to adapt is required. Qualifications Bachelor degree ideally in a relevant subject records management, technical writing, documentation, library andor information sciences, or a degree plus relevant extensive practical experience and evidence of continuious professional development. Language Skills The position requires an excellent command of the English language both written and orally. Additional knowledge of other European languages, such as Spanish andor German is considered an asset.
