The Position To create a training material database, communicate with involved parties to understand training needs, and provide or coordinate said training. This position is based at our Headquarter in Darmstadt. It is fulltime and permanent and expected starting date will be around October 2021. We are looking forward to meeting you! ResponsibilitiesDuties Develop a training and certification process for Spacecraft Controllers, Analysts and Engineers Organise and lead a central Training Facility within Spacecraft Operations. Assemble and Manage an uptodate library of training material and platforms, creating a Training Catalogue. Support Operations Teams in their training and team expansion needs. QualificationsExperience Degree in Science or Engineering discipline Experience in Spacecraft Operations, in particular Spacecraft Control, Mission Control Systems eg. SCOS, Satellite Payload procedures, Database support, awareness of running missions at ESOC and Eumetsat. Essential Skills The successful applicant will have a solid background in a scientific or technical discipline. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Logical and methodical organisational skills Ability to take the initiative and work without constant supervision Flexibility Desirable Skills Familiarity with the use of Learning Management Systems andor other Training Databases. SPECIFIC TASKS Provide technical expertise and guidance relative to the 3 pillars of the project physical workplace, Digital and smart services and New ways of working. Review technical documentation and provide feedback according to ESAs standards. Supporting the project execution in each of its phases. Maintain project documents by filing all project documents in an appropriate library and ensuring that all documents are accurate and accepted by the Project Manager. REQUIREMENTS Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar field and 4 years of relevant experience Experience in working with MS Office 365 ecosystem functionalities WAN, LAN, WLAN, Internet infrastructure, DNSDHCP, print server, file server, firewall, GSM indoor infrastructure Thorough familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and project scheduling computer applications Experience in working with Video conferencing equipments and software e.g. CISCO, Polycom, WebEx, TeamsSkype Excellent verbal and written communications in English and French Excellent critical and creative thinking and analytical skills Excellent organizational and planning skill Excellent effort estimation capabilities, even based on minimum expressed requirements Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure, troubleshoot, and to meet short and longterm deadlines A certification in project management would be considered an asset DEADLINE 07092021 Please note that interviews canwill be held via skype, webex or other digital platforms. Summary Exciting opportunity for a climate scientist passionate about outreach, to join the Telespazio UK team, and lead the set up and execution of a brand new international project office IPO for the CoupledModel Intercomparison Project CMIP, in a role colocated with ESA Climate Office at ECSAT. Objective This prestigious post will provide scientific outreach, and communication support to the CMIPIPO and the Director. The CMIPIPO is expected to be the focal point for leading national and international entities in climate modelling, coordinating independent international teams and projects working toward a common goal. A more prominent role is foreseen for CMIP in bringing models and observations closer together, and aims to Better understand past, present and future climate changes arising from natural and anthropogenic changes Assess model performance in the past and future, including the representation in models Investigate predictability of the climate system on various time and space scales as well as making predictions from observed climate states Make multimodel output publically available in a standardized format Carry out work as directed by the Working Group on Coupled Modelling WGCM CMIPIPO operates under overall guidance of relevant CMIP governing bodies EGCM, CMIP Panel, WIP, and in close coordination with the WCRP Joint Scientific Committee JSC, and HeadWCRP Secretariat. Responsibilities Duties The successful individual will be expected to Provide scientific support to the CMIP international project office Take the lead in communication and organisation matters, including Coordinate CMIP scientific communication and outreach including communicating simulation protocols, setups, CMIP science questions context and CMIP model results Organise meetings, workshops, conferences, training sessions and other activities relevant to CMIP Prepare CMIP administrative reports, correspondence, publications Ensure CMIP is highly visible as a WCRP brand via appropriate communication and outreach tools Coordinate CMIP administrative, communication and outreach activities Set up, develop and provide oversight and maintenance of a CMIP website Qualifications Experience University Masters degree, or equivalent qualification, in Physics, Earth Sciences or related scientific discipline.
