Sentinels AstroDynamics Engineer 1623103 Job Description We are looking for a Flight Dynamics Engineer for our client ESOC. You will be part of the Sentinels Flight Dynamics Team CopernicusSentinels Operations Teams. The primary areas of responsibility are the AOCS Monitoring, Command Generation and Mission Planning. This vacancy note concerns an onsite consulting position at ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. 2 Copernicus Sentinels Data Systems Engineers 1623106 Job Description We are looking for 2 part time Copernicus Sentinels Data Systems Engineers for our client ESOC. You will be part of the Sentinels Data Systems Management Team. The main area of expertise will be the Simulator SIM, although support on the area of Mission Control Systems MCS is expected. The tasks will be divided to cover the following areas One parttime STE covering primarily the Sentinels operational data systems evolution service support One parttime STE covering the daily Sentinels Operations service support Initially fully dedicated support service to the Sentinels Simulators Engineering will be required, however it should not be excluded that at a later stage tasks related to the Sentinels MCS Engineering support may be included. For both of these Mission data systems, the service includes Specification of the software requirements of these systems in collaboration with the operational users Definition and specification of their internal and external interfaces in agreement with the relevant parties Acceptance of the deliverables received from industry, ensuring correctness, completeness and compliance to the applicable requirements Support to the mission operations staff as required in the various operational phases, including System Validation Tests, simulation campaign and in software support coordination as part of the Flight Control Team during critical operational phases such as launches Coordination with other internal ESOC or external units, e.g. with the unit supplying mission data systems infrastructure and with the unit supplying the ICT systems and services Participation in research and development activities in the area of mission data systems Participation in the testing and validation of the various infrastructure elements used by the Sentinels MDS as well as definition of the future evolution of these systems Collaboration with other missions to ensure crossmission consistency and harmonization between Sentinel and other missions MDS systems, spinin from other missions into the Sentinel MDS and spinout from the Sentinel system to future systems including, but not limited to, future Sentinel missions Required Skills and Experience Common qualifications for both areas Experience in supporting Earth Observation Missions including prelaunch activities and launch campaigns of satellites Familiarity with SIMULUS Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems Capability to interact with users in a customer oriented manner. For the location in Darmstadt, Germany we are looking for a Copernicus Ground Segment System Engineer at EUMETSAT. Aufgaben Tasks Within the System Engineering and Project Division SEP of the Technical and Scientific Support Department TSS, the Ground Segment System Engineer will work in the Ground Segment System Engineering team GSSE, supporting the requirement management, design, development and implementation of the ground segments of the Copernicus missions under EUMETSAT responsibility, having a particular emphasis on the continuity of operations and the control of changes and evolutions of the systems. The initial focus of the activities of the Ground Segment System Engineer will be the development of capabilities to reach full engineering professionalism in the area of system engineering of operational ground segments. Once the basic skills and capabilities of the consultant have been developed and exercised, the Ground Segment System Engineer shall support the Sentinel3 Operations with respect to EUMETSATs S3 Ground Segment maintenance and necessary evolutions. The Key Persons duties will include a range of tasks, including among others Participate in the system engineering processes for managing requirements through the lifecycle of ground segments, using formal methods and tools e.g. DOORS for maintenance, traceability, verification and validation of requirements Support the technical analysis of the architecture and specifications of major upgrades of ground segments, in order to ensure coherence and compatibility with other ongoing developments and identify impacts on baseline technical documentation Contribute to maintaining the reference architecture of the overall EUMETSAT ground segment through the assessment of relevant technologies and design options, based on a Model Based Engineering approach Support the definition of the Integration Verification Validation IVV approach and the related tests for evolutions of existing systems and installation of new systems Support the maintenance of a complete and consistent set of system level documentation and drawings. Preparing and providing support to the day to day operation and maintenance of the Copernicus S3 ground segment, including the handling of the anomalies raised during the operation of the system and control of changes. In support to operations, the Key Person may also be required to provide on call support as part of a team of maintenance engineers. Essential requirements The consultant should have a minimum of three years experience in the following fields University degree or equivalent in system engineering or other relevant discipline. System Engineering for the development, or major upgrades, of Ground Segments for Earth Observation missions, or their main components Software development lifecycles, system testing for Earth Observation systems and knowledge of the Ground System Engineering processes and standards i.e. ECSS.
