Job Description The tasks and responsibilities of the consultant shall include, but not necessarily be limited to the following Contributing to the provision of QA support and advice to members of OPS, to help ensure the correct implementation and performance of operational activities, in accordance with our Clients Management System and all relevant OPS procedural documentation Following selected operational activities, attending relevant operations meetings and identifying any aspects of concern of process QA relevance Reviewing OPS procedural documentation procedures, guides, working practices, etc., ensuring consistency with the OPS documentation library in general and with the document conventions in use Providing assistance guidance in the definition and implementation of processes to members of OPS Supporting assessments of OPS processes and service reviews, recommending improvements where appropriate Establishing, maintaining, analysing and reporting on metrics which provide insight into selected OPS processes andor operational services Supporting Risk Management activities in accordance with the OPS Risk Management Plan organising and advising risk reviews, maintaining risk registers, following up mitigation actions, and producing report information. Requirements The consultant shall have the following A university degree or equivalent in a technical subject At least 3 years experience of a QA process assurance role, preferably in an operational 247 data processing andor serviceprovision environment Experience of satellite ground segment operations would be of special value Good knowledge of the ISO 9001 standard Experience of working in an environment where an ISO 9001certified management system is used Good verbal and written communication skills fluency in English Experience of documenting work activities in the form of process definitions, procedures and working practices, plus good userviewpoint writing skills Experience of QA auditing andor process assessment Skilled in using the Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel and Outlook.

We are looking to further enhance our team by adding a MTG Data Processing System Procurement Consultant You will be based initially for 2 years at our clients headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Extension of a further 2 years may be possible. In this large European Agency you will find an excellent and modern working environment with challenging tasks and responsibilities. Your Tasks Include The consultant will be integrated into the Data Processing Team of the MTG Ground Segment. The overarching task of the consultant will be to support the procurement activities for the MTG L0, L1 and L2 data processing facilities, primarily by developing and consolidating the knowledge needed to acquire the mission data processing functionality for online and offline functions, including functionality providing common services, such as data handling, processor allocation and monitoring, job control, and general MC, and by supporting the technical interface to industrial consortia. The consultant will support the development, verification validation, onsite delivery, acceptance and warranty of the MTG data processing systems. In addition, support for ground segment integration and system validation activities may be required. In particular the tasks will include Support the procurement of the data processing elements by advising on technical solutions proposed by the contractor and by reviewing documentation to confirm its compliance with the requirements Support organization and execution of facility reviews e.g. PDR, CDR, TRR including processing and handling of the RIDs, tracking RIDs resolutions and actions, verification of satisfactory documentation updates. Support management of the requirements baseline for data processing elements, including L0, L1 and L2 detailed processing specifications, and their lifecycle, including organization of technical meetings for requirement consolidation, implementing and tracking documentation updates Follow up the implementations of the framework elements and the operational processors support and monitor contractors, organize and participate to progress meetings, formal reviews, technical and interface definition workshops Support a proper knowledge transfer to industry, especially for operational concepts, working practices and procedures, and ensure that the design and implementation of the data processing system correctly support such operational needs Develop and maintain, as well as support procurement of test tools and test dataset including reference processors and reference test datasets that reflect the functionality defined in the processing specifications Support the verification and validation, deployment, acceptance and warranty of the operational software. In the performance of these tasks, the consultant shall comply with the applicable rules of the Directory of Instructions DI and the Client Management System, the applicable organizational and divisional management standards, and also with the relevant working practices and procedures as well as the organizational and divisional documentation management procedures. The set of applicable rules and working practices to be applied during the execution of the work will be made available at start of the duties. Your Profile In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as computer science, physics, mathematics or remote sensing, the Consultant shall have a minimum of three years experience in software engineering for operational processing of satellite or meteorological data. Knowledge and experience of the following is mandatory Processes, phases and documentation related to procurement of data processing systems, preferably for operational satellite payload data processing for Earth Observations System and Software engineering as well as specification, development, and testing of operational software, preferably for earth observation systems Formal software testing, verification and validation of data processing systems andor product processors L1 or L2 for satellite data or other meteorological data Development and testing of software in UNIX environments. Practical knowledge of as many as possible of the following will be an advantage Radiometric and spectral calibration, use of radiative transfer models, development of complex scientific software for the processing of large amount of data ECSS standards The ability to perform under high workloads Very good communication, presentation and listening skills including the ability to rapidly absorb, and make use of, information presented in written and oral communications in a dynamic context. The official languages are English and French. The working language for this position is English and therefore the consultant must be able to work effectively in this language. Satellite Application Facilities Engineering Consultant

We are looking to further enhance our team by adding a Satellite Application Facilities Engineering Consultant You will be based initially for 2 years at our clients headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Extension of a further 2 years may be possible. In this large European Agency you will find an excellent and modern working environment with challenging tasks and responsibilities. Your Tasks Include The Satellite Application Facilities SAF Web Area encompasses a suite of webbased tools necessary to support SAF Network Management activities. Examples are the Webbased RID tool supporting the SAF Reviews and the tools enabling control of the SAF baseline. Such tools need to be kept uptodate in line with progress of SAF developments. The following Tasks shall be performed Task 1 Using the Clients Webbased RID Tool, support the preparation and conduction of all SAF Reviews, properly configuring the tool for each review, based on related organizational notes, and the generation of review reports. The contract shall also support the evolution of the used Webbased RID tool in line with evolving requirements as well as detected anomalies to be corrected. Typically, up to 3035 SAF Reviews are conducted every year, either by email exchange, with collocation meeting of the review board and the SAF project, or when via teleconference. Task 2 Update and refine the structure of the SAF Network Management Intranet and Extranet areas and update the related content in line with the evolving status of the SAF Network. Task 3 Maintain on the SAF Network Management Extranet the SAF Controlled Documentation Baseline at network level and for each SAF. The continuous evolution of the SAF Network also requires systematic updates to the contents of related pages in addition to maintaining their coherence with the interlinked external web sites e.g. SAFs Leading Entities, relevant International Initiatives. This requires continuous crosschecks between Clients SAF Web pages and external pages. In addition, using the Client Web Site framework, the consultant shall support the conception of appropriate Web Pages allowing the retrieval the SAF Baseline as identified in Task 2 above. Task 4 Ingestion of the related new documentation metadata into the supporting Database Task 5 Update of the SAF System Architectural synthesis available through the Internet Task 6 Configure the SAF FTP Server, used in conjunction with other WEB Tools. A dedicated FTP Server is available for the exchange of documentation between the SAFs and Client. This FTP server supports specific SAF reviews and also a dedicated documentation exchange during different phases of a SAF project. In the context of the development of the new Clients Satellite Systems, and in particular of MTG and EPSSG, there is a need to ensuring proper interactions and cross coordination between SAFs and the Clients Programmes, as committed to provide products based on data from related satellites, and these programmes. Specific support tasks are therefore requested as follows. Task 7 Support the followon of the SAF Developments related to MTG and EPS SG, including assessment of evolution of requirements, evolution of design and interfaces with respect to the baseline plans, providing synthesis elements to be made available via InternetExtranet. Task 8 Support the supervision and assessment of SAF Verification and Validation activities for all new productsoperational chains related to MTG and EPS SG, in particular in terms of Evaluation of the test progress with respect to MultiMission Elements MME of the Ground Segment Dissemination and ArchivingRetrieval Evaluation of the coherence of the SAFs Verification and Validation plans and Test Records with respect to the programme Verification and Validation approach of new satellite programmes in development Supporting the distribution to SAFs of Test Data related to new satellite programmes in development for use by SAFs for verification and validation purposed Gathering of Verification Validation Results provided by SAFs for inclusion in the Verification Validation Files of the new programmes in development. Support to Programme Reviews The PRS Division supports the overall Review processes for the programmes in development, at system, ground segment and lower level as appropriate. For these review the Webbased RID tool is used and maintainedconfigured by PRS. In this context the Contractor shall perform the following tasks. Task 9 To support the configuration of the Webbased RID Tool in line with the organization notes for Programme reviews. Typically, this support will be relevant for up to 10 reviews per year. Task 10 To support the programme review secretariat during the conduction of reviews is so explicitly requested and agreed. Your Profile As a minimum, the consultant shall have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent, and a proven experience and skills as specified hereafter. Experience Mandatory General Knowledge of Ground Segment Engineering lifecycles Experience in Project Reviews Organization and conduction Knowledge of requirements definition and traceability Knowledge of engineering standards used in Ground Segment Developments, such as ECSS Experience in WEB application in implementing and maintaining web contents and services for Internet, Intranet and Extranet systems Experience in using Web Contents Management Systems. Technology Skills for the WEB activities Mandatory Experience in PHPJavaScriptHTML5CSS3 Experience in Relational Database e.g. Oracle and metadata management for documentation systems based on extranet. Complementary Experience Qualifications Experience in one or more of the following will be considered as an advantage Basic knowledge of Verification and Validation processes Use of Web Collaboration Tools Knowledge of Internet technical and organizational aspects, internetworking concepts and architectures, classical Internet applications e.g. FTP, SMTP, NNTP Knowledge inof using, XML, XSD, and XSLT Experience of working in an ISOcertified environment would be also appreciated.
