We are looking to further enhance our team by Infrastructure Technical Service Support You will be based initially for 2 years at our clients headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Your Tasks Include The Key Person shall work in the Technical and Scientific Support TSS Department as a member of the Infrastructure Team within the Generic Systems and Infrastructure GSI Division. HeShe will report to the Technical Infrastructure Manager. The tasks of the Key Person will typically include Support to the procurement, installation, testing, and maintenance of infrastructure equipment such as cables and ducts, distribution panels, network devices, servers, blade centres, storage devices and arrays, consoles, racks, furniture and related services Generate and maintain the hardware and cabling installation documentation, including layout diagrams, network diagrams, cabling and equipment inventory lists, on the basis of new procurements as well as upgrades or relocation of existing equipment Provide support to the ordering, storing and distribution of equipment and operational consumables Provide support to General Services Division GES for the investigation and troubleshooting of infrastructure equipment problems Provide support to and interface with GES for maintenance of the Control Centres infrastructure equipment including airconditioning equipment, the Uninterruptible Power Supplies UPS, the diesel generator, etc. Support the operation and maintenance of the infrastructure tools such as the iPatch cable management system and the Struxtureware DCIM system Participation in any necessary meetings and reviews Perform any other operational infrastructurerelated tasks as directed by the Technical Infrastructure Manager. Your Profile Educational background The Key Person shall have an undergraduate degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent working experience. Mandatory experience The Key Person shall have at least 5 years proven experience as listed below Working in an environment where an ISO 9001certified management system is in use and where work activities are documented in the form of procedures and working practices Cable installation and testing. In particular the Key Person must have recent and practical experience of connecting and testing fiber cables. Installation and powering servers, storage, network equipment and installation of racks. Technical drawing software package. Experience with cable management SW tools and with Data Center Infrastructure Management SW tool. Operating experience in a 24x7 environment. Coordinating small projects 34 people with 10K EUR order of magnitude budget Desirable experience Experience with large electrical power distribution systems, UPS, cooling systems Experience with inventory management systems. Other requirements The Key Person shall be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, shall be able to work calmly and correctly under stress and must be able to work with the minimum of supervision. Flexibility and good communication skills are also expected. The official languages are English and French. However, the working languages for the position are English and German, therefore the Key Person must be able to communicate effectively in both languages. We are looking to further enhance our team by Meteosat Meteorological Product Support Consultancy You will be based initially for 2 years at our clients headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Extension of a further 2 years may be possible. In this large European Agency you will find an excellent and modern working environment with challenging tasks and responsibilities. Your Tasks Include In general, the tasks of this Key Person will be towards the provision of support within Clients Remote Sensing and Products Division RSP to the routine monitoring and validation of satellite derived meteorological products. Within RSP, the Key Person will work in the team of the Atmospheric and Imaging Applications AIA in the group responsible for the routine product monitoring, validation and quality control, but in close interaction with the AIA scientists who are responsible for the development, maintenance and improvement of the processing algorithms. The focus of the product monitoring group is on the routine monitoring of the scientific quality of the operational products, validation of operational products, reaction to anomalies reported within this operational processing, support to the implementation process for new products or updates of existing products, and support to the necessary documentation work e.g. Algorithm Theoretical Baseline Documents, Validation Reports. The work will mainly deal with the products extracted from the series of Clients Meteosat geostationary satellites. It is expected that the tasks of the Key Person will include Support to the monitoring and validation activities of existing Meteosat algorithms and products Support to new and enhanced algorithms and products, especially in the area of product validation Preparation of technical notes and reports, notably with regard to validation reports Attendance at technical meetings as required Participation in RSPAIA team meetings Your Profile The Key Person shall have, as a prerequisite, a university degree or comparable qualifications in Meteorology, Atmospheric Physics or related subjects, and a demonstrated experience of at least 3 years in the area of satellite meteorology or satellite data and products monitoring and quality control for optical imaging instruments. Furthermore, at least 3 years experience in software development in a Linux or Unix environment is required, together with at least 3 years experience in a higher programming language as e.g. Fortran90, C or C. Experience with graphics packages like IDL or Matlab would be a distinct advantage. The Key Person is required to have the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision. The Key Person shall also possess good interpersonal skills. The official languages are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the Key Person must be able to work effectively and have good writing skills in this language.
