GNSS Engineering Support High Accuracy Services 1923049 Job Description We are looking for a GNSS Engineer to support the High Accuracy Services team at ESOC. The primary area of activity is GNSS Performance primarily related to operation of GNSS POD and UTC realisation. Navigation Operations Services, executed for several ESA and 3rd party customers in parallel, process data from a combination of a number of GNSS receiver networks, including the ESA network plus optionally subnetworks providing data by contractual agreement and publicly available data CDDIS. The data are processed in batch mode or in realtime, in ESOCs Navigation Facility. Service products typically include orbit products restitution and prediction and highrate clock solutions both for the ground and satellite clocks. Beside near real time products enhancedaccuracy offline or final products may be delivered, as well as additional or auxiliary products station coordinates, geophysical data e.g. Earth Rotation Parameters ERPs, satellite properties, etc.. The general activities to be supported are depending on the phase of the mission Navigation Operations Engineering service N avigation Experimental Operations Galileo Performance Analysis Galileo Constellation Analysis EGNOS Performance Analysis Navigation System Definition service Navigation Algorithms service POD engineering support and consultancy GNSS station engineering Range Integrity Monitoring Stations RIMS deployment Maintenance and upgrade of SW Ionospheric modelling You may be requested to assume the responsibility and perform activities for additional service, projects and activities within the scope of overall Navigation services. You will be primarily assigned to particular services within the Navigation Office but with the possibility of supporting other services andor projects. The tasks will cover the following areas Support in the preparation of future missions, services and products related to multi GNSS based precise orbit determination and high accuracy services support in the preparation of project proposals definition and development of processing strategies support to definition and elaboration of external study activities simulations and performance analysis Development of new GNSS undifferenced observation models and related concepts for ambiguity resolution in order to achieve the highest possible accuracy for navigation and precise orbit determination solutions Development of new algorithms and concepts related to GNSS based precise orbit determination and highaccuracy services including pure kinematic precise orbit determination for single satellites, formation flying satellites and satellite constellations in different orbital regimes Software development and maintenance for GNSS based precise orbit determination and high accuracy services Support to project operations and related data processing Operation of GNSS POD Operation of ESOCs UTC realisation Required Skills and Experience You shall have At least five years of demonstrated experience Very good knowledge in GNSS observation modelling Very good knowledge in GNSS navigation algorithms Very good knowledge in GNSS based precise orbit determination Very good knowledge on multi GNSS processing Very good knowledge of the NAPEOS software Good knowledge on GNSS receiver system calibration Good knowledge on GNSS time synchronisation A relevant engineering university degree in the fields of astronomy, mathematics or physics Ability to apply knowledge to develop solutions to technical mathematical and dynamical problems in cooperation with customers and other experts Ability to define, implement, validate and operate software which applies the above solutions using e.g. Linux scripting languages, Fortran, C, Matlab, Python Accustomed to coordination and interaction with other service providers in the fields listed in the requirements.
