IT Support Engineer Grid Cloud Expert

Aurora is an established supplier of skilled manpower to ESA and in particular at ESTEC and ESAC. Aurora has the opportunity to expand our support within ESAC. Overview This work package is intended to provide a number of specialised services to support ESA in Computer System Engineering at ESAC for the missions science operations centres. The SCIIT Unit SITU is providing computer support to all science operations centres and science ground segments located at ESAC, either in development or in operational phase. Under this work package, service shall be provided to support ESA in system administration activities for those computer systems used for science operations and research activities. These computers are general servers or workstations mainly based on Linux and Oracle Solaris, Macintoshes, Technical PCs and for Office Automation activities. The environment also includes Disk Storage infrastructure, Virtual infrastructure as well as GRID and Cloud computing infrastructures. Systems can be physical machines or provided through virtual infrastructure. These systems are connected to networks organized by functions operational, office and development, external services, GRID, Cloud and administration networks. Core Areatasks would include F5 load balancers Review and modify cyphers in order toimprovesecurity Investigate some disconnections reported by the users Grid Install and configure new SciGrid7 infrastructure based on the new version of Univa Grid Engine using cobblerandpuppet tools Migration of resources from the old SciGrid6 infrastructure to the new one Grid and Cloud evolution Configuration of SCIGRID3 chassis Configure Dell IO Aggregators as standaloneswitches not stacked and remove 40G cables connected between them Upgrade firmware of all the elements of the chassis 16 idracs, IO Aggregators, CMC Reinstall 16 physical hostwithCentOS 7 and the corresponding software to be included in the new hyper convergedinfrastructure using oVirt andGluster Create a CentOS 7 VM template inoVirt manager Deploy 16 VMs from this template for SciGrid infrastructure Configure these VMs to be added as execution hosts to the Univa Grid Engine cluster Use puppet configuration tool for thecustomizationof these VMs Run the properUniva Grid Engine commands to include them as execution hosts Memory cards have been purchased at the end of 2017, so we will have to install them as soon as they arrive to ESAC and complete the corresponding configuration changes A new Dell M1000e chassis has beenpurchased at the end of 2017, when this chassis arrive to ESAC some tasks have to be performed Fill the needed datacenter request forms for the installation of the chassis and all its connections power and network ports DefineIP addresses and names needed for all the elements of this chassis Configuration ofDell IO Aggregators switches Installation and configuration of the servers, according tothe new hyper convergedinfrastructure using oVirt andGluster SciCloud Fix some issues about reporting and dashboards Review and check some issues in CloudForms that appeared after last update to CloudForms 4.5 version. Linux RedHat system management. Virtualization technologies. Backup technologies. PC Windows and Macintosh system management. Good interpersonal and communication skills, together with a proactive attitude to problem solving and customer focus are required. The candidateshould be comfortable in an international working environment and be fluent in written and spoken English, one of the official language of ESA. A high level of written and spokenEnglishis essential. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in Spain without the need to obtain a work visa. Required tasks The general responsibilities 1. GNSS signal propagation and associated SBAS algorithms design, in particular for those effects linked the signal crossing the Earths atmospheric layers i.e. ionosphere and troposphere and those related the local reception environment e.g. multipath and interference 2.
