Once successful you will be primarily assigned to the Mars Exploration Operations Unit but will have opportunities to work on other missions within the Solar System and Explorations Missions Division. This is a fabulous opportunity for an individual with excellent communication skills in English, to work on a number of hugely interesting programmes. The scope of the role is wide ranging and includes Test Preparation and Execution FOP Preparation Mission Phase Definition Mission Phase execution including LEOP, commissioning, Mars Arrival and Surface operations Anomaly Handling, Mission Planning and Spacecraft Performance Analysis and Reporting. You should have experience in all of these areas. You should have applicable knowledge and experience across all Spacecraft Subsystems AOCS DH OBSM Power Thermal TTC Payload also have experience in Ground Segment development, improvement activities in support of flight operations and activities applicable to spacecraft operations. It is a key requirement that you are able to demonstrate your team player attributes ideally with experience of coordinating and interacting with other service providers in operations scenarios. The role will develop with the mission phases, and across different missions so we are looking for engineers who can demonstrate initiative and flexibility in a fastpaced environment, perhaps already familiar with the ESOC environment. With experience of the full lifecycle of spacecraft flight procedures, deep space missions and validation of ground segment systems you will ideally have carried out procedure creation, validation and simulations. You should also be familiar with SCOS2000, onboard software and MOIS. Specific Qualification Requirements A Master degree PhD in Telecommunication or Electrical Engineering. In addition to the required 4 years relevant work experience, some years of work experience in the field of satellite TTC and PDT systems. Knowledge of modern computer systems, programming languages, telecommunication standards particularly in the area of TTC and Telemetry, digital signal processing theory applied to communication systems and simulation tools is required. Familiarity with TTC transponders, Payload Data Transmitters for Earth Observation and other spacecraft subsystems technology design and testing is an asset. Knowledge on Authentication and Encryption schemes as applied to TTCPDT systems, in addition to cyber security aspects, is also an asset. Candidates must be eligible for security clearance from their national security administration. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA.
