Job Description We are looking for a Communication Systems and Technologies Engineer to support our client ESTEC. You will join a team that supports projects and programs in the area of security, including Assistance in preparation of invitation to tenders related to ESA RD. Support the management of industrial RD activities in the areas of satellite modem physical and link layer analysis, design, prototyping and testing SATCOM Systems and network analysis and simulations. Position Reference 813 On behalf of ESA, we are currently looking for a PA and Safety Engineer to work in its Site ESTEC in the city of Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The key person will provide support to the Galileo Ground Segment PA Unit in all the activities related to the execution of the Galileo Ground Segment and Software Product Assurance and Safety Programme. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Guiding and monitoring the implementation of Ground Segment and Software PAS requirements in order to assess performanceeffectiveness, participation in design reviews and directing the necessary preventive or corrective actions. Supporting the process for evaluation and approval of waivers and deviations. Supporting the project nonconformance process and attendanceorganization of nonconformanceanomaly and software review boards as necessary. Position Reference 812 On behalf of ESA, we are currently looking for a Radio Navigation Engineer to work in its Site ESTEC in the city of Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The key person will mainly work on GALILEO Ground Segment processing facilities, supporting the GALILEO Ground Mission Segment GMS team. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Evaluation of GMS design and evolution, with a specific focus on GMS Algorithms and performances incl. RAMS aspects, ensuring the design, development, deployment, verification, tuning and validation of the Ground Segment functions that generate and monitor the navigation products i.e. Ephemeris, Clock, Group Delay, Code Phase Biases, etc. ... in line with the allocated performances for service provision i.e. accuracy, continuity, integrity and availability requirements and development constraints. Evaluate GMS design evolutions for robustness improvements e.g. barrier enhancement and new functions. Followup of the procurement actions related to the implementation of a set of GMS Elements including support to the monitoring of industrial contracts for the developments and generating and reviewing relevant documentation such as technical requirements. Participation to GMS related Integration, Verification and Qualification IVQ activities, such as test cases definition and preparation, formal tests witnessing, Verification Credit collection at Element and Segment level, anomalies followup at Element, Segment and System level. Support to GMS engineering activities, as well as Galileo System level engineering activities, such as requirement engineering, change management and baseline evolutions DCPsDCNs, assessment of contractors RFDsRFWs new services evaluation and contribution to proposal assessments. Contribution to GMS and System reviews and support to Galileo Ground Segment next generation developments. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree MSc minimum in telecommunications and signal processing, electronic engineering, computer science or other scientific disciplines, with at least 4 years of relevant working experience in these fields. Experience in the management and monitoring of industrial activities, including participation in reviews. Specific knowledge in the design and testing of Ground Segment algorithms related to the generation and monitoring of the navigation products i.e. Ephemeris, Clock, Group Delay, Code Phase Biases.... Knowledge on Resource Abstraction layers e.g. hyper convergence, virtualisation, containerisation and data centric processing. Relevant experience with the GNSS and GALILEO systems and equipment, along with a good knowledge of Radio Navigation processing, simulation and testing systems. Eligibility for security clearance from your national security administration. Fluency in English, both written and spoken. The following skills would be highly desirable Specific knowledge on algorithms for clock ensembles, realtime clock anomaly detection and automatic fault compensation. Responsibilities As a Mission Data Systems Software Engineer your responsibilities will be related to the technical management of the mission data systems used for spacecraft operations, which include Mission Control Systems MCS, Mission Planning Systems, Operational Simulators, Service Provision Data Centre system and advanced software applications.
