Engineer, Station Support Manassas United States Manassas, Virginia Your Job Provide stationwide technical support for all teleport operation, installation, and maintenance processes at the Manassas facilities. Also, as required, provide station support through the planning, design, implementation, and configuration of Manassas Ground Ops systems and infrastructure. Your Responsibilities Specify technical requirements Evaluate new station hardware Provide 247 oncall support to the Network Operations Center Interface and coordinate with Logistics for shipments Provide local program management oversight Perform maintenance of all station RF, IF and baseband equipment Operate, maintain, install, test, and configure all station RF, IF and baseband equipment Maintain accurate station block and level drawings Provide operational support to PMOCL2 and NOC in trouble resolution as required Respond to station alarms being monitored by MC System Your Competencies Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally diverse organization Be able to be on call 24x7x365 for offhours emergencies Be able to lift at least 50 pounds and climb ladders Customercentric communication and interpersonal skills both oral and written Design engineering and implementation experience with SATCOM, broadband, telecommunications, digital video, and TCPIP systems Good knowledge of microwave and satellite techniques and the ability to troubleshoot at system level using test equipment. Engineer, ARC Integration and Test Luxembourg Betzdorf Role description summary The Engineer SDRM System Dynamic Resource Management development is responsible to ensure technical compliance and performance of the SDRM software, which is a critical infrastructure for GEO and MEO satellite to manage and organize the network resources. The SDRM development engineer analyses the algorithm performance, interacts with the development team of the SDRM on critical system related issues, is responsible for the implementation requirements, the operations concepts and the technical compliance of the dynamic resource manager system for multiple satellite systems. Primary responsibilities Key result areas Define SDRM requirements, ConOps, interfaces and tests Follow development and implementation work as expert resident software engineer at a software development company Ensure contract compliance and quality assurance of software development processes Follow critical tests throughout the software development process Work with an experienced team using agile methodologies Develop highquality software requirements user stories, designs and architectures Design and write software that addresses complex requirements, perform associated software unit testing and software integration. Execute performance engineering and optimization, proof of concept testing, deployment planning and acceptance testing. Act as key interface between SES and the contracted software development company to ensure contract compliance Organize integration validation tests of the operational software with other critical parts of the satellite operations software Automate the development cycle via continuous integration Create technical documentation and reports of the development process Keep uptodate with latest technologies Qualifications Experience Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Information Technology or related scientificengineering fields. At least 3 years of software engineering experience or a PhD degree. 10 years for Senior level and proven experience of leading a software development of a large critical software Essential experience Proven knowledge of satellite communication systems Proven experience and knowledge of stateoftheart optimization techniques and practical implementations of optimization, machine learning, artificial intelligence and big data related data analytics software Programming languages experience such as Python, C, C, JAVA or other relevant language. Expert level at one language for Senior level and experience with large code sets for operationally critical software. Senior Engineer, Network Infrastructure USA Manassas The Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer is a role in the SES Networks Operations Engineering group in which the candidate is responsible for the management and enhancement of the production Global Network Infrastructure. The engineer will gain a broad knowledge of the SES Networks product range as well as SES Networks global core infrastructure. The primary objective of this role is to ensure SES Networks customers are provided the highest quality service throughout their lifecycle. Primary Responsibilities Key Result Areas Responsible for SES Networks Core infrastructure operation and enhancement. Develop procedures and training materials for the Network Operations Centre. Accountability for network training given to the Network Operations Centre. Interact with other operational groups and support coordination of projects. Work with various other engineering groups and provide feedbackfeature request to improve customer products. Interact with vendors to resolve problems and bugs, perform handson testing and troubleshooting. Audit and assess network against customer service requirements and best practices. Support Network Services group in remote network design and deployment of core infrastructure for SES Global customer base. This includes but not limited to reviewing and provide recommendations, templates and procedures to customers to help them operate their networks efficiently. Minimum of 10 years experience in IP internetworking, preferably with 3 or more years in the satellite arena or a service provider environment Expert level TCPIP and routing knowledge BGP,OSPF,ISIS,BFD 7 years of experience in MPLS, Layer 2 3 VPNs, VPLS, Carrier Ethernet, CoSQoS and IPsec 7 years of experience of deployment experience of Quality of Service within a network. Familiarity with the MX, SRX, EX Juniper product lines. Experience in WAN Optimisation Products. Experience with Unix Linux systems administration and creation shell scripts to automate tasks Network analysis and management experience using SNMP, NTP, DNS, SSH, etc. Expert level troubleshooting and debugging skills. Ability to design, plan, coordinate network maintenance and installation windows.
