SATURN Satellite Networks UK is looking to recruit key personnel for a new satellite manufacture in the UK which will disrupt the existing satellite communications market. AOCS Subsystem Engineer Description Based at our new stateoftheart facilities in the UK, Saturn satellite manufacturing will be producing compact communications satellites 200Kg500Kg for Geostationary, MidEarth Orbit and LowEarth orbit systems for export around the world. Our unique payload of shaped antenna systems and programmable digital processor will allow full communications services to be provided inorbit at a costpoint which is a fraction of the cost of traditional communications satellites. To carry the communications payload we will be producing a new spacecraft platform in the UK, and utilising the latest techniques in automated engineering. We are therefore seeking the highest calibre individuals to join our platform design and manufacturing team. More than just technical competence we are looking for people with commitment and ambition. Position Summary The Attitude and Orbit Control AOCS subsystem engineer will be responsible for all aspects of the AOCS and spacecraft positioning, navigation and guidance systems. The AOCS subsystem engineer will be responsible for the definition and procurement of the sensors sun sensors, sky trackers etc, and actuators reaction wheels, gyros, torquers etc. The AOCS engineer will be responsible for the algorithms and subroutines to control the spacecraft attitude in nominal operations and LEOP. Responsibilities Define the AOCS subsystem in terms of sensors, actuators and other equipments Define the AOCS algorithms and attitude routines for use in the onboard software Define the attitude correction and precise orbit determination including onboard GPS if necessary Work with the payload manufacturing team to ensure accurate pointing for the main antenna systems Liaise with the Program Manager for the procurement of commercial AOCS components and units Liaise with the OBC and data handling engineer for the subsystem IO definition and connectivity Milbus, Spacewire etc. Support the Lead Platform design Engineer on all aspects of the platform design pertaining to AOCS units and harness connections Liaise with the Propulsion engineers for propulsion control interfaces and pointing determination Ensure that all platform program documentation for the AOCS subsystem ICDs, diagrams, budgets etc. is produced. Qualifications and experience Minimum of 2 years professional experience in spacecraft Attitude and Orbit Control definition and implementation. Strong knowledge of AOCS units including sensors, actuators and GPS interfaces. Ability and willingness to include latest generation processes and techniques for manufacturing Strong written and verbal communications skills Strong technical background and proven program history Ability to produce spacecraft budgets and specifications Eligible to work in the UK UK security clearance may be sought

Job description For our customer, EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany, we are seeking for an experienced Spacecraft Operational Simulator Software Engineer to perform software and system engineering for operational simulator. The initial activity will be to support the JasonCSSentinel6 spacecraft simulator development. The simulator procurementimplementation of the JasonCSSentinel6 simulator, which is based on the ESOC SIMULUS simulation application suite, is under ESAESOC responsibility while EUMETSAT acts as the simulator user. EUMETSAT is contributing to the development by Defining and maintaining EUMETSAT specific technical requirements mainly related to payload instruments Supporting engineering lifecycle and reviews Participating in the formal verification and validation campaigns. This leads to raising formal Anomaly Reports and follow up their implementation in subsequent deliveries. Responsibilities As an Operational Simulator Software Engineer, your responsibilities will include the following activities Contribute to the review of technical data package documentation Reception of incremental and corrective simulator deliveries Contribute to the application installation and configuration into EUMETSAT target environments Participate in formal verification campaigns Provide operational expertise to different EUMETSAT Teams e.g. Flight Control Team, System Team. Attend technical meetings onsite EUMETSAT or offsite ESAESOC, supplier to Followup queries from ESAESOC or EUMETSAT teams Answer queries from simulator supplier industry on behalf of ESAESOC or EUMETSAT. In relation to simulator installation and configuration the following tasks are performed Preparation of configuration artefacts related to the build and deployment of the software application pipelines, packaging Preparation of configuration items related to the operational usage of the simulator e.g. scripts, displays, data, In relation to simulator verification the following tasks are performed Verification test plan definition and maintenance Test data definition and management Test tool usage required by verification activities Simulator configuration with external interfaces Mission Control System.
