Position Reference 456 You will have the opportunity to provide safety engineering support to the Independent Safety Office at the European Space Agency. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a PhD or Msc Engineering from a recognised Institution of secondary studies University, Ecole suprieure, etc. or equivalent. You have relevant experience in the design and engineering of safety critical systems. You have handson knowledge of the safety analyses and methodologies Experience in human spaceflight safety with emphasis on the application of ISS safety requirements and processes. You have good interpersonal, organization and communication skills, with the ability to work in a diverse team environment. You have a good knowledge of ISS systems, subsystems and payloads, of ISS safety requirements and their related implementation. You have an extended understanding of the hazard which are intrinsic of a system and or induced by space operations, and the way they are eliminated or controlled. You have a good knowledge of the way safety data are generated, validated and retained in support of the ISS programme safety certification. You have knowledge of Configuration Management. You are able to handle complex situations and complex environment. You have an extensive knowledge of system safety engineering principle, methods and processes. You have a good knowledge of ISS operations environment. The following skills would be highly desirable Familiarity with space product assurance practices. PROFILE Mandatory skills University degree in the domain of engineering, physics or equivalent. At least 3 years of general experience with onground processing of data from satellite instruments for Earth observation. At least 3 years of handson involvement in VV activities for onground processing chains, including production of test tools and of test data. Support the implementation of an infrastructure to host test tools and test data. Support configuration management of tools test data sets Support the preparation of VV tests of processing chains, such as preparation of test specifications and procedures, specifically for aspects related to use of test tools and test data. Contribute to the execution of VV tests of processing chains, specifically for the analysis of test results, inter alia using developed test analysis tools, with documentation of the results in test reports. Participation in relevant internal and external meetings. Support for the preparation of documentation for system level reviews.
