One of our clients in Germany is looking for a System and Ground Stations Operations Preparations Engineering Support. The key candidate, amongst some other tasks, will support the RSO division but shall initially provide support to the development and operations preparation of the MTG Programme focussing on system and ground station aspects, ensuring they are brought to a suitable level for the transition of the programme into routine operations. Tasks The Key Persons main duties will include the support to System and Ground segment operations preparation activities. Ground segment procurements for the future programmes including acceptance and validation phase. Review documentation and attend formal reviews as part of the procurement process. Supporting and witnessing IVV testing for future programmes. Definition and maintenance of operations procedures, including system and ground segment procedures and operations guides. Liaison with the spacecraft operations team to ensure the continuity and optimisation of spacecraft monitoring and control activities. Day to day operations of current and future ground stations including daytoday planning, monitoring and first line anomaly investigations. Processing and coordination of system and ground segment anomalies in particular but not limited to ground stations, their documentation, investigation, classification and resolutionmitigation, including participation in Anomaly Review Boards. Analysis of ground station obsolescence, and upgrade paths within a 247 operations environment. Participation in technical meetings, formal reviews, and scheduling and planning meetings. Provision of training, through written materials, practical demonstrations and presentations, to other members of the Operations and Engineering Teams. Qualifications A university degree in a relevant technical discipline or the equivalent work experience. Experience Key Person shall have the following mandatory attributes At least three years experience in a realtime spacecraft operations environment. At least three years experience in the routine operations of satellites preferably in an earth observation environment. Experience of the preparation and use of operational procedures, databases, displays and documentation. Experience of the following would be a distinct advantage Experience in the operations preparation and routine operations of Geostationary GEO and or Low Earth Orbit LEO satellite systems. Experience in the procurement phase of ground segments for satellite monitoring and control and mission data reception, ideally in the Earth Observation domain. Experience of document management and configuration control processes. Experience of development and upgrades within a 247 operations environment. Experience in defining user interfaces for operations HMI, reports etc. Knowledge and Skills The Key Person shall possess the following skills Autonomy and Resourcefulness Work proactively in an individual or team environment, with the minimum of supervision Perform effectively under high workloads and be able to adapt to a rapidlychanging timecritical environment. Take steps to minimise risks in both the near and longterm. Communication Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills and be confident to deal with a wide variety of people and to influence at all levels. Have excellent presentation and training skills with the ability to deliver a message such that it generates learning and understanding.

At least five years experience in a realtime 247 spacecraft operations environment, ideally in an earth observation environment. Excellent interpersonal and coordination skills. Experience of the following would be a distinct advantage Major upgrades or evolutions of operational ground stations. Defining and implementing the verification and validation of ground stations. Interfaces between ground stations and ground segments. Firstline hardware and software failure diagnosis and correction. Baseband operation and configuration.
