One of our Space Clients based in Germany is looking for a System Engineer for the Electrical Power Systems for their Satellite program. Tasks Design, analysis and configuration of power systems for satellite applications using solar generators, batteries and control units Support to the selection and supervision of subcontractors Production and maintenance of documentation analyses, specifications, test procedures, reports and design descriptions Oversee the interfaces with other satellite subsystems Development of test concepts and provide suitable support during testing Support to satellite projects from start to customer acceptance Interface to customers and subcontractors. Skills A degree in engineering with a major in Electrical engineering or comparable qualifications Several years of professional experience in the space business are a plus Knowledge in electrical power supply of satellites Experience with hardware projects in phase BCD, preferably in the field of electrical power systems Experience with CAE development tools Excellent communication skills, flexibility and ability to work independently

ATG Europe is currently looking for an Electrical Lead Systems Engineer, specialized in satellite system engineering, to be deployed as a staff member at our customers location in Munich, Germany. Our client is one of the top players in the European space technology industry offering solutions for satellites, complex scientific instruments and space missions. In this role, you will be responsible for the electrical architecture of an instrument satellite throughout its whole product life cycle beginning with its definition, ensuring its proper implementation and finally the provision of inorbit support. Tasks and Responsibilities Perform architectural studies to define and justify the bestsuited concept with respect to the top level customer needs considering aspects as feasibility, design maturity, implementation efforts and risks Formulation of the electrical architecture in terms of requirements and ensure its proper definition and flowdown to lower level equipment suppliers Coordinate your work within the OHB systems engineering team with lead engineers in charge of other domains e.g. thermal, accommodation, software Manage key budgets on power, discrete interfaces, data rates, bus loads and TMTC parameters Support the evaluation, selection and later progress monitoring of lower level suppliers to ensure the proper implementation of electrical architecture Presentation of your work outcome towards other team members, suppliers and customers in technical meetings Perform shadow engineering tradeoffs risk estimation for critical subjects Investigate alternatives in case technical supplier nonconformances together with the systems engineering team Management of technical impacts through RFDRFWNCRs within your domain of responsibility Support subcontractor reviews to ensure that your needs are regarded Ensure the adequate requirements verification in electrical and functional domain in cooperation with the OHB verifications manager by assigning verification methods, contribute to test plans, establishment of test specifications and negotiation of these aspects with suppliers and customers Although you need provide the technical background to manage all subjects within your domain of responsibility on your own you may coordinate a team of engineers which support you in performing your work e.g. harness engineering, EMC engineering, electrical engineering which is dependent on the project size. Requirements Diploma in electrical or telecommunications engineering Strong background in Electrical and Data Handling Systems Engineering for space projects As a professional with at least 8 years of professional experience in electronic development activities for space projects with either analog digital or electrooptical background you perfectly understand the design flow of electrical subsystems and are able to work with associated documents Detailed knowledge is required on o Detailed design in the analogue and digital domain including simulation and analysis, creation of major analyses as WCA, PSA, FMECA o EMC design and verification o Data Handling Systems for space programs on board computers, communication busses, mass memory, space qualified microprocessors, etc. o Power Systems power conditioning and distribution, solar arrays power regulators, battery conditioning, etc. o Motor drivers and actuators, control algorithms o Thermal Control Systems needs from the electrical power and control. Good knowledge of general specifications ECSS MIL standards at system level for general electrical requirements, EMC requirements, mechanical and thermal interfaces and requirements, radiation environment High interest to dig into the details of technical aspects in various domains Organized and structured task approach, high degree of motivation and personal identification with the respective task and project Strong focus on reaching progress by thinking and communicating in terms of solutions, ability to reach goals also under schedule pressure Willingness for intensive travel Excellent communication skills and fluency in spoken and written English. The Challenge We seek a qualified engineer to be part of the flight control team providing spacecraft operations engineering services for the Galileo constellation of navigation spacecraft. The tasks to be performed are those typical for a spacecraft operations engineer, but with a focus on data handling operations. Typical spacecraft operations engineering tasks include requirement definition, preparing and validating flight control procedures, validating ground systems used for operations, participating in spacecraft interface tests, and spacecraft performance analysis.
