Main Responsibilities The below range of support tasks are required Assistance in preparation of invitation to tenders related to ESA RD. Activities and contracts technical followup. Specific engineering support to space projects developed by ESA andor by major European industriesoperators Validation of designs by means of analyses, simulations, laboratory testing and field trials possibly in cooperation with third parties. Design, implementation and testing tasks for technological projects. The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate must bring Master Degree in Telecommunication Engineering with particular emphasis on digital communication system and subsystem techniques, highspeed processing techniques for communication via satellites Knowledge of satellite communication architectures and techniques. Experience in analysis and design of modern digital communication systems, coding and synchronization issues. Familiarity with modern communication system and subsystem simulation techniques, as a minimum Matlab and CC program languages. Knowledge of modern prototyping and testing methodologies for digital communication subsystems is also preferred. Altimetry Instrument Systems Engineer

We are currently looking for an experienced Altimetry Instrument Systems Engineer to join our international team of young and inspiring engineers and industry professionals, tasked with driving innovation within the Space, Satellite and Earth Observation sector. This role is rooted in EUMETSATs commitment to the European Unions Copernicus Earth observation programme and will provide the opportunity to work with leading IT, Space and Earth Observation organisations and domain experts to make a positive impact on society! Background In the context of Copernicus and through its JasonCS programme, the EUMETSAT Copernicus Mission Development Division is involved in the development of ocean altimetry missions, focusing on system and data processing. EUMETSAT is also the operator of the Copernicus Jason3, Sentinel3 and JasonCSSentinel6 marine missions, based on a partnership with ESA and other European and US partners. In partnership with ESA, EUMETSAT is now planning for the next generation multiorbit ocean altimeter system and mission expected to take over Sentinel3 and Sentinel6 in the 2030 timeframe, and assessing the possible use of the CRISTAL mission for acquiring additional altimeter data over the open ocean. Reporting to the EUMETSAT phase AB manager for future Copernicus missions and to the System Manager for future Copernicus Sentinel altimetry missions in the development phase, the Altimetry Instrument System Engineer will follow up the ESAled definition of requirements, design and development of altimeter instrument suites altimeter, microwave radiometer, orbit determination system. Heshe will assess critical information for the development of data processing and satellite operations by EUMETSAT and support its appropriation by multidisciplinary teams. Duties Support the evaluation of new concepts for altimeter instrument suites by ESA, including the assessment of impacts of technology evolutions on the definition of future altimeter missions Attend as an observer and support, as requested, the relevant Mission Advisory Group meetings Support and followup the ESAled design and development of altimeter instrument suites, and the assessment of impacts at mission and system levels, including the assessment of Instrument performance and operability requirements Instrument compliance with mission and systemlevel requirements Results of onground calibration, testing and qualification Impacts of instrument nonconformances at system and data processing levels Instrumentrelevant results of System Validation Tests. Participate in major system, satellite, and instruments reviews as appropriate Facilitate the appropriation of critical instrument information for data processing within the multidisciplinary EUMETSAT functional instrument chain team and operations preparation teams Assess the specification and relevance to EUMETSAT of instrumentrelated tools developed by ESA for the purpose of inorbit verification and commissioning of instrument and output products Support the development of additional tools needed by EUMETSAT for calibration, commissioning and validation of operational Level 1 and Level 2 products Support commissioning of instruments and endtoend operability and performance validation, in close coordination with altimeter scientists and data processing experts Participate in Anomaly Review Boards for instrument anomalies possibly affecting system performance or operations Provide feedback, lessons learnt and experience from instrument inorbit verification and commissioning to subsequent instruments satellites.
