In this position you will contribute to and lead projects involving the development, implementation, improvement of ground based systems and services. You will take part to attract new markets for SES and SES Techcom . In cooperation with SES internal and external partners, you will develop and promote innovative technical and business solutions. In this specific role you will primarily designing, supervising the development, verifying and validating solutions, delivering of systems. You will work closely with Service and Operation team to transfer projects in managed services. Among others, your project will be to serve governmental and nongovernmental organizations, hospitals, medical universities and other health care providers, for collaborative platforms and services in areas like elearning, esurveillance and ehealth. Responsibilities Attract contracts by managing or supporting customer requests for proposal RFP, comprised of activities such proposal team set up and management, technical and financial proposal preparation, and contract negotiation Deliver projects and services to SES customers within budget, specification and on time Awareness and evaluation of relevant technological developments, market trends, competitive factors, customer requirements, standardisation licensing and regulatory aspects Either support or be responsible to Design and deploy communication systems worldwide Interface customer and collect requirements for the setup of budgets, procurements, installation management and the operational handover of systems Procure equipment, software and services necessary to build the infrastructure at customer premises and manage shipment Supervise specification, design, and development work necessary for project implementation, including project control functions Followup of delivered systems during lifetime operations Experience Qualifications Have a university degree Telecommunications, SystemsSoftware Engineering, or equivalent Have min. 5 years of applicable professional experience in systems engineering Proven experience in managing complete communication systems deployment Experience in presales engineering e.g. technical proposal, cost estimation, facing customer Experience in enterprise network architecture Cloud computing, IP network architecture and VPN communication Experience in satellite based communications VSAT platforms, Earth Station design Experience in software definition, design and validation Fluent in English another language of the EMEA region is seen as an asset Willing to travel internationally for project reasons Our Offer Competitive salary package, coupled with a diverse array of challenges and development benefits. This vacancy note concerns an onsite consulting position at ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. 2 Copernicus Sentinels Data Systems Engineers 1623106 Job Description We are looking for 2 part time Copernicus Sentinels Data Systems Engineers for our client ESOC. You will be part of the Sentinels Data Systems Management Team. The main area of expertise will be the Simulator SIM, although support on the area of Mission Control Systems MCS is expected. The tasks will be divided to cover the following areas One parttime STE covering primarily the Sentinels operational data systems evolution service support One parttime STE covering the daily Sentinels Operations service support Initially fully dedicated support service to the Sentinels Simulators Engineering will be required, however it should not be excluded that at a later stage tasks related to the Sentinels MCS Engineering support may be included. For both of these Mission data systems, the service includes Specification of the software requirements of these systems in collaboration with the operational users Definition and specification of their internal and external interfaces in agreement with the relevant parties Acceptance of the deliverables received from industry, ensuring correctness, completeness and compliance to the applicable requirements Support to the mission operations staff as required in the various operational phases, including System Validation Tests, simulation campaign and in software support coordination as part of the Flight Control Team during critical operational phases such as launches Coordination with other internal ESOC or external units, e.g. with the unit supplying mission data systems infrastructure and with the unit supplying the ICT systems and services Participation in research and development activities in the area of mission data systems Participation in the testing and validation of the various infrastructure elements used by the Sentinels MDS as well as definition of the future evolution of these systems Collaboration with other missions to ensure crossmission consistency and harmonization between Sentinel and other missions MDS systems, spinin from other missions into the Sentinel MDS and spinout from the Sentinel system to future systems including, but not limited to, future Sentinel missions Required Skills and Experience Common qualifications for both areas Experience in supporting Earth Observation Missions including prelaunch activities and launch campaigns of satellites Familiarity with SIMULUS Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems Capability to interact with users in a customer oriented manner. This includes 1st and 2nd line support Experience with the ESOC working environment including Procedures and Quality Management System QMS The ESOC MOIIT services e.g. ESOC operational networks, baselines etc... Specific qualifications for the Sentinels operational datasystems evolution service support In depth knowledge of S1 AB, S2 AB and S3 AB simulators Familiarity with programmingscripting languages e.g. C, Java, JavaScript, shell scripting Familiarity with supervision of Software Development by external providers Specific Qualifications for the Sentinels Operations service support Ability to organize work into welldefined repeatable processes Experience in user training.
