For the location in Darmstadt Germany we are looking for a Sentinel3 Storage Systems Engineer Backup SAN at EUMETSAT. Tasks This Position for a Storage Network Infrastructure SNI EngineerBackup consultancy support for the activities mainly related to the evolution and maintenance of the EUMETSAT Copernicus Sentinel3 Storage and Systems Administration within the Computer and Storage Team of the Generic Systems and Infrastructure Division GSI at EUMETSAT. The SNI EngineerBackup shall perform tasks related to development and maintenance of storage and computing systems with special focus on backup, archive and retrieval services, such as Monitoring of the facility services, computing, storage, backup and archive performance, investigation into HW and SW problems and performance of the relevant corrective actions Ensuring that in case of HW or SW failures the operational configuration can be restored, including the definition, maintenance, performance of backuparchive procedures Provision of standbyoncall support Provision of support, as required, to critical operations The duties include the administration and operation of the central archive systems and tape storage components, maintenance of the offsite storage, inventory and support to the operation of the storage services. Essential requirements The consultant shall have the following mandatory background At least 5 years experience in the administration and troubleshooting of distributed storage and computing systems in high availability cluster environments, running Oracle, Solaris and Linux operating systems. At least 5 years experience in the implementation and maintenance of backup and recovery solutions Symantec NetBackup At least 3 years experience in the implementation and maintenance of archive solutions managed by Hierarchical Storage Management HSM system Oracle SAMFS At least 3 years experience administering high end, automated, tape library systems StorageTek SL8500 series with ACSLS software At least 5 years experience in Storage administration of Storage Area Networks SAN, middle and enterprise storage arrays serving many different types of client platforms via a virtual layer Desirable requirements Experience in the administration and troubleshooting on the following shall be considered as an advantage StorageSystemService Monitoring using Nagios framework Administration Perl and PHP scripting TCPIIP intemetworking and the related network protocols and applications.
