To strengthen our activities in the Darmstadt office we are looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer mfd to support the Heinrich Hertz Mission YOUR TASKS You will join a small and committed team and support operations preparation for the upcoming SCISYS mission, the German telecommunication mission Heinrich Hertz H2SAT, phases CDE. In this challenging role you will have the opportunity to contribute from the very beginning of the project lifecycle and become a member of the mission operations team for H2SAT. The following tasks are currently envisaged, but the assignments might change during the projects development depending on the operational needs Review, refine and complement relevant documentation generated during preceding phases Support the development of all the required documentation as per operational phase, according to ECSS standard Develop and validate the Flight Operations Procedures for LEOP, IOT and routine operations Prepare training material and provide training to other members of the operations team Define, coordinate, conduct and document system validation activities as simulation campaigns, SVTs, mission rehearsals, etc. Test and validate all operational items Perform operational configuration management Participate in technical meetings, formal reviews, and scheduling and planning meetings Support H2SAT LEOP, platform payload IOT, GTOGEO transfer and final GEO orbit slot acquisition as member of the operations team YOUR PROFILE University masters degree in aerospace, mathematics, physics or equivalent 3 years of relevant experience in spacecraft operations Experience in operation preparation would be an advantage Analytical and structured mindset Capability to work independent and under time pressure Ability to collaborate in a team and be proactive Fluency in English WE OFFER With SCISYS you get the chance to take responsibility for your own and varied professional activities, while there is always room for producing new ideas and contributing your personality Get to know a corporate culture where team spirit, trust and dedication are the core values Short decision paths, flexible working hours and a good reconciliation of work and everyday life are a matter of course for us INTERESTED? Spacecraft Operations Engineer Geostationary Satellite Systems Darmstadt, Germany Thorn SDS is a cocontractor currently providing spacecraft engineering services to EUMETSAT, the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites. We are searching for both junior and senior engineers to complement our team in Germany. These are great opportunities to develop and grow your career in a multinational environment under the guidance of industry experts. Candidates must be excellent communicators in English with a passion for the Space Industry. The responsibilities of the service include the routine and special operations of operational METEOSAT spacecraft, continuous monitoring of spacecraft performance and the operations preparation of the next generation of geostationary spacecraft. In addition to a relevant university degree, team members are expected to have expertise across one or more subsystems payload, thermal, power, TTC and to work seamlessly together with the rest of the team to ensure a level of competence is always available. Experience of Spacecraft Operations or Spacecraft Operations Preparation, preferably on Geostationary Earth Orbit GOE would be considered advantageous. The role will develop with the phases of the missions, so we are looking for engineers who can demonstrate initiative and flexibility in a fast paced environment. With experience of the full lifecycle of spacecraft flight procedures, you must have carried out validation and testing, with relevant experience of low Earth orbit satellite operations. You will have worked on anomaly investigations and have developed appropriate programming skills. Juggling tasks and making the most of the resources available to you will be essential in this role.
