Your Responsibilities Being part of a team which safeguards the health of several GEO andor MEO satellites on a 247 basis Monitoring and analysis of satellite telemetry data Commanding of satellites for all required operations Mastering all routine operations and acquire a sound knowledge of the initial steps of anomaly recognition and recovery in particular execution of station keeping manoeuvres and monitoring satellites through the seasonal eclipse periods Work in close relationship with the Satellite Engineering Department to ensure health and safety of the satellite fleet. Real Time Junior Analyst, MEO Spacecraft Operations United States Manassas, Virginia Your Job The Real Time Analyst, MEO Spacecraft Operations, is an invaluable contributor to the spacecraft operations mission via three primary role. First, they help monitor, manage, and control the SES MEO satellite constellation. They also ensure the US MEO Backup Satellite Operations Center bSOC is fully operational and ready to take over mission operations at a moments notice. Lastly, they lead efforts to investigate, coordinate, manage and resolve spacecraft, ground system and network issues or requests by working closely with the MEO Network Operations Center NOC, Spacecraft and Payload Engineers and other stakeholders. Your Responsibilities Role 1 Perform MEO Satellite Operations Operates spacecraft in accordance with approved procedures and the daily operations plan Continuously monitors spacecraft telemetry and alarm status Responds to spacecraft and ground anomalies, identifies possible causes, determines risk and possible corrective actions, implements solutions and escalates the problem if necessary Proactively and autonomously works to improve satellite operations safety and efficiency Achieves and maintains the high possible levels of performance and knowledgecompetency Supports a diverse, worldwide network of operational and technical resources and helps ensure their continued availability Accurately reports facts by opening spacecraft and ground system anomaly reports and maintaining the Satellite Ops logbook in a concise and accurate manner Performs indepth analysis and trending of various ground and spacecraft system telemetry Is a key liaison between Management, Spacecraft Engineering, NOC and spacecraft controllers Role 2 Ensure MEO Control Center is Fully Operational Ensures US MEO bSOC ops requirements are promptly and continuously satisfied Provides Level 2 anomaly and recovery assistance for all spacecraft, antenna, ground system, network, and SOC Ground Control System GCS issues Coordinates urgent SOCrelated troubleshooting and maintenance activities Develops spacecraft and ground commanding procedures and associated SA displays Helps MEO Software Engineering in create, update and sustain system tools, logs and scripts Generates pointofneed operational guidance and directives for SOC operations crews Creates, manages, and executes the MEO operations master schedule and related visualization dashboards Role 3 Coordinate with NOC, Payload Engineering and Other Stakeholders Is the primary liaison between the SOC, customers and various internal and external support organizations Uses approved operational concepts to allocate, configuredeconfigure, manage and share limited antennas and groundbased resources with fellow SES OM workcenters Shares their extensive satellite operations knowledgeinsights with the NOC to quickly fix ground system and network issues while coordinating, monitoring and recording actions taken Monitors customer data throughput and immediately initiates and supports troubleshooting by investigating spacecraftrelated issues andor performance shortfalls when problems are noted Your Profile The successful candidate should posses the following attributes A technicalengineering degree in electronics, aeronautics, aerospace engineering, math, or equivalent qualificationsdocumented experience Verifiable experiencecompetency in spacecraft operations preferably MEO or LEO, orbital mechanics, or satellite ground station ops and maintenance 3 years experience desired Documented experience as a missioncertified spacecraft controller would be highly advantageous! For our activities at EUMETSAT, we are currently seeking to employ highly motivated and enthusiastic Spacecraft Operations Preparation Engineer to work in an exciting innovative international environment. We are looking for Senior and Junior Spacecraft Operations Preparation Engineers with experience in the field of System or Spacecraft Operations either during routine or operations preparation of complex space systems. In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in experience in a relevant discipline, the person shall have a wellbalanced and distributed experience in the following Mandatory Skills Experience of Spacecraft Operations and or Operation Preparation preferably on Low Earth Orbit LEO, with responsibility for one or more platform subsystems or instruments during operational validation, LEOP, commissioning or routine operations phases Experience in Satellite Databases. In particular, this shall include experience in the processes involved in developing and validating an operation database from a reference database delivered by the satellite manufacturer, and also experience in the use of scripting and SQL to implement changes and checks as efficiently and reliably as possible. Experience with OBSW maintenance activities, in particular memory image maintenance and Configuration Management CM processes for both ground images and onboard memory management Experience in definition, development and validation of operations for the development of satellite ground segment facilities such as monitor and control, mission planning, onboard software management, ground stations monitoring. Experience as simulation officer, satellite simulator management, coordination of rehearsals and team readiness assessment for launch. Experience of SCOS2000 mission control systems and use of the APEX operations procedures preparation and execution tool Experience in the full cycle of development of application software for satellite simulators, following formal software engineering processes. This includes system requirement analysis, software requirement engineering, software design and implementation reflecting maintenance activities as well as new applications definition. Experience in satellite performance monitoring and reporting aspects including anomaly analysis and solving in liaison with satellite industry, procedure change control and configuration management processes Experience in requirementsbased design, development and verification process following the ECSS standards and using DOORS. Furthermore, it would be a distinct advantage for the team to have experience with some of the following Proven experience in the phases of routine and commissioning. Specification of space system and operational concepts, facility requirements Familiarity with OnBoard Control Procedure concepts Familiarity with the ECSS Packet Utilisation Standard, customisation and usage Familiarity with system change control and configuration management procedures Data analysis software packages and programmingscripting skills in other coding languages such as Python Java Perl etc. Use of VBA for development of adhoc tools in MS Office applications. Familiarity with ModelBased Systems development applied to Space missions Strong data analysis, processing and synthesis skills are essential and an ability to recognise opportunities for improvements in areas of work and implement appropriate solutions is highly desirable.
