Position Reference 908 We are currently looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer to work at our clients premises in the city of Darmstadt, Germany. The key person will support the Data Handling Subsystem with focus on PUS services and Onboard Control procedures maintenance, operational support to instruments and spacecraft performance analysis. The Spacecraft Operations Engineer may also be requested to assume the responsibility and perform activities for additional subsystems or systems within the scope of general SOE services, including test, validation and operation of the Mission Control System, Mission Planning System and Simulator. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Operations Supervision. Anomaly Handling. Mission Planning Tools, MIB and FOP Maintenance. Validation and Deployment of Ground Systems updates. Management and coordination of internal mission interfaces. Spacecraft Performance Analysis and Reporting. Phase Execution Eclipses Ops, Flyby, Remote Sensing Windows, etc.. OnBoard Software Maintenance Support Service. Engineering Model Maintenance. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree in a relevant discipline. Spacecraft subsystem knowledge AOCSDHOBSMPower ThermalTTCPayload. Coordination and interaction with other service providers in operations, and with other entities such as PI teams or Science Ground Segment. Machine learning experience. Experience in scripting programming. Fluency in English, both written and spoken. The following skills would be highly desirable Familiarity with the ESOC environment. Familiarity with satellite control systems, in particular SCOS2000. Familiarity with operational simulators, especially the ones based on SimSat. Familiarity with deep space missions operations. The Position We are looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer SOE with strong engineering skills and experience to support our customer EUMETSAT, based in Darmstadt. As a full member of our excellent SOE team, you will deliver a state of the art spacecraft operations for the Sentinel3 constellation. Beside the daytoday operations of the Sentinel 3A3B satellites, you will be involved in the preparation and early operations phases of the Sentinel 3C mission. Involvement in the study or early design phases of future Copernicus Missions e.g. CHIME, CIMR, CO2M, CRISTAL, LSTM or ROSEL is a real plus. You are fluent in English, written and spoken. Crucial Skills You are passionate about satellite operations and engineering. You have a system level knowledge of ground and satellite subsystems.
