This is a job for an experienced Network Administrator. The role is related to monitoring, administering and supporting WAN, LAN, Firewalls and Data Centre network infrastructure. This includes fault diagnostics and incident resolution within contractual SLAs, engaging 3rd party vendors and hardware maintainers and the coordination of field service engineers. The successful applicant will become a member of the 2nd Level IT Support Team, based at our customer ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. You should be able to start at 01.04.2018 or latest 01.06.2018. ResponsibilitiesDuties Planning, preparation, testing and implementation of maintenance activities such as patch installation and software upgrades Investigate second line support calls assigned and identify the root cause of incidents and problems. Technical coordination and preparation of technical documentation and reports Auditing and accounting. Maintenance of inhouse produced software and documentation. Performing extra support activities as requested, including working outside the normal working hours. Interfacing with 1st and 3rd line support, and other internal 2nd line support teams. Troubleshooting using Sniffing tools QualificationsExperience A university degree in Computer Science or equivalent. At least 3 years experience as Network Administrator. The successful candidate will have strong resultsoriented and planning capabilities, coupled with very good problemsolving skills and a pronounced customer focus. Applicants should have good communication and negotiation skills, be able to work in a diverse team environment and accomplish goals in line with team objectives. Essential Skills Knowledge of Cisco routing and switching Layer2 and Layer3, OSPF, BGP, VRFlite. The Network Operations Centre NOC, based at ESAs European Space Operations Centre in Darmstadt, Germany is responsible for the coordination, configuration and monitoring activities related to the ESA ground segment, specifically the Telemetry, Tracking and Command TTC stations of the ESTRACK ground station network. The NOC Engineer will be expected to occasionally work as part of a 247 shift in support of launches and special operations. QualificationsSkills Applicants require a University or similar degree in engineering, physics or similar applicable discipline. A good professional experience in endtoend ground station systems required for spacecraft operations, antenna, RF frontend equipment, backend TTC systems, communication equipment, MC systems, station general support systems and preferably also in the area of space to ground communications and RF. Solid experience in endtoend ground station systems for spacecraft operations Solid test procedures, equipment and tools background Good ground systems knowledge on a subsystem level Familiarity with operational environments Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems Fluent in English, both in speech and writing Selfstarter, able to work independently with little or no supervision Proactive and confident personality with good persuasive skills Teamplayer, able to interface with technical and management personnel Well organized, able to prioritize and manage several tasks in parallel Solid IT knowledge, in networking concepts and common tools and software applications Able to demonstrate broad knowledge of the principles of good customer service, and the fundamentals of Service Management within an ITIL operation Experienced in operating within a modern service management environment, with a good understanding of SLAs, KPIs, and performance objectives and reviews. Jamii Telecom launches 4G network in Kenya under Faiba brand, first to offer VoLTE

(Telecompaper) Jamii Telecom has launched a service called Faiba 4G Mobile, making it the fifth telecom operator to be licensed in the Kenya. It will operate under the prefix 0747 and will be the first to provide voice over LTE (VoLTE). Faiba 4G Mobile will offer free voice calls, and will be able to do high definition voice and video after investing USD 50 million in its network infrastructure and successfully launched commercial trials.
