TASKS The Ground Stations play a key role in Space and Ground Segment operations, the Key person will therefore be expected to acquire and maintain a Systemwide view of the Ground Segment, particularly in the areas of spacecraft TTC and payload data transfer. The Key person shall divide his time and expertise, according to the workload, between the various programs to support the long term evolution and maintenance of the Ground Stations. The tasks of the Key person will typically include Investigation and rectification of anomalies reported by the operationsmaintenance team Interface with the maintenance services providers at a technical level Reporting on the performance of the Ground Stations and associated systems together with a status report of any ongoing activities Attendance at the relevant coordination meetings to plan and schedule Ground Station activities ensuring compliance with Operational activities and constraints Provision of Ground Stations support to operations during critical mission phases, pre and post launch i.e. SVT, LEOP, IOT and contingency Maintenance of operational Ground Stations procedures, databases and documentation in accordance with the configuration management and quality assurance practices Provision of technical support during the creation of maintenance agreements and contracts Assist with the preparation or evaluation of proposals for modificationsimprovements to the Ground Stations and associated equipment Planning and scheduling the implementation, testing and validation phases of any modificationsimprovements PROFILE In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the Key person shall have a minimum of 5 years experience in the Operations and Maintenance of Large Ground Stations andor Ground Stations EngineeringIntegration used for GEO andor LEO missions. The Key person shall have experience in the following area Ground Station design, integration and testing, particularly in the areas of Antenna, RF, Base Band and Tracking subsystems, including the generation of Requirement definition and ICD specifications Operation and configuration of various types of Baseband equipment including integrated TTC and ranging systems i.e. Cortex type and High Data Rate Modulators and Demodulators Maintenance and Operation of large Ground Stations particularly in Local and Remote MC including databases and automated procedures, redundancy management, Site Infrastructure and liaison with Service providers Analogue and digital modulationdemodulation schemes used on the Ground to Space interface for TTC, Mission data transmission and Data Collection Systems. Execution of Spacecraft interface verification testing, prior to launch in support of the SVT, and post launch in the form of RF IOT as part of Spacecraft Commissioning. In addition, the knowledge and experience of some of the following subjects would be considered as a distinct advantage Implementation of relevant ECSS standards and CCSDS recommendations concerning Space Link Services and Space Link Extension SLE protocols Commercial satellite and micro wave data links Basic knowledge of WAN, LAN and TCPIP protocol In Orbit Test I.O.T. systems deployment. The Key person should be used to working proactively within a small team, being able to work with the minimum of supervision. The variety of the tasks and the scope of the systems to be supported require a high degree of autonomy and good analytical skills. The ability to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, and working calmly and correctly under stress, is essential. The key person shall have good communications skills, to allow the effective communication of information under a variety of circumstances with the operational team. The official languages are English and French.

We are looking to further enhance our team by Process Engineer in the Ground Facilities Operations Division You will be based initially for 1 year at our clients headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Extensions for further years may be possible. In this large European Agency you will find an excellent and modern working environment with challenging tasks and responsibilities. Your Tasks Include The postholder shall provide support to two organizational units, 50 to the Ground Facilities Operations Division HSOON and 50 to the Business Unit Control Office HSOB. The two customer entities will coordinate, internally and with the contractor staff, the planning and scheduling of their respective activities. Under the authority of the Head of Ground Facilities Operations Division, the postholder will be responsible, with 50 of hisher time, for supporting the Head of Ground Facilities Operations Division in routine activities of the division and the ongoing streamlining and modernization of work methodologies and processes, and, with 50 of hisher time, for supporting the Head of the Cost Centre Control Unit in the Business Unit Control Office in the area of processes management, in particular for the development, documentation, review, update and amendment, implementation and revision of key management processes. Specific duties, for HSOON, will include Supervising the regular and event driven generation and publication of key performance indicators for the activities and services in HSOON. Analysis, assessment, improvement and documentation of HSOON internal processes in e.g. test and validation, planning and scheduling, ops reporting etc., in liaison with HSOBC, where applicable. Generation and evolution of service level agreements with HSOON customers and suppliers. Generation and iteration of work and task allocation for changing roles of service and contract staff. Adhoc support to management, including budgetrelated support, as required. pecific duties, for HSOBC, will include Review, amendment and maintenance of the document tree for HSO processes. Analysis of the draft process documentation received from Clients IMS project, from Corporate and from other sources regarding corporate management and financial processes. Assessment of the impact on corresponding HSO processes. External benchmarking with industrial processes, where considered appropriate. Analysis of the existing HSO processes, their design, documentation and implementation. Identification of gaps and potential areas for improvement. Coordination and documentation of process reviews and lessons learned workshops with HSO entities affected by the processes in question and with HSOQ. Coordination and documentation of process design workshops for new HSO processes with HSO entities affected by the processes in question and with HSOQ. Consolidation and archiving of the outcomes of the reviews and workshops in a process documentation file. Drafting of new and updated or amended existing policies, procedures and work instructions for HSO processes in accordance with results of the analyses and reviews or workshops. Proposal and analysis of meaningful process indicators. Coordination of the review of draft updates and amendments to existing policies, procedures and work instructions for HSO processes. Finalization of the process descriptions for approval. Follow up of the formal release process with HSOQ. Validation of new processes through prototype implementations. Rollout, implementation and followup of approved processes in accordance with their specifications, but excluding auditing of processes. Drafting of new or amendment of existing Directors Instructions, as necessary, in line with the approach outlined above. Maintenance of a process status document. Your Profile Applicants should have a university degree Masters in an engineering or science discipline and a strong interest in the aspects of organisation, processes and change management, e.g. demonstrated by relevant studies or training.
