EGNOS Performance Engineer

In support to the ESOC Navigation Support Office, involved and strongly committed to provision Galileo and EGNOS with an expertise for highaccuracy navigation and satellite geodesy, you will have the opportunity to be part of Engineering Performance Team working on EGNOS V3 deployment and contributing to the EGNOS performance and qualification activities. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Supporting the specification of system algorithms Supporting the system simulations, performance assessment and analysis Supporting the determination of system state probabilities and availability of system elements Supporting the analysis of error budget contributors of GNSS signals ODTS error, troposphere, ionosphere as input data for service volume analysis and raw data generation. Supporting the troubleshooting and determination analysis of anomalies Supporting the definition of data analysis methods Supporting the enhancement of system performance analysis tools and Software Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a University degree in a relevant engineering field, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Physics, Geodesy or physics You have at least 3 years of experience in engineering of navigation systems You have a theoretical and practical knowledge of satellite based navigation systems like EGNOS, Galileo, GPS You have an understanding of satellite data dissemination flow and navigation message generation and processing You have a proved experience in standard engineering software development languages like Matlab and CC You are able to apply your knowledge to develop solutions to technical mathematical and dynamical problems in cooperation with customers, public Agencies and Institutions and other experts You are able to define, implement, validate and operate software which applies the above solutions using e.g. Unix andor Linux scripting languages, Fortran 77 andor 95, C You are willing to take operational responsibility and leadership in multidiscipline teams You are fluent in English, both in speech and writing You are able to coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields.
