Team Leader Mechanical Thermal Engineering Client and Location For one of our customers we are currently recruiting a Team Leader Mechanical Thermal Engineering for their location in Leiden, the Netherlands. In these areas they belong to the world top. Aim of the position In this role you reports directly to the Director Operations Center. You hierarchically lead a group of up to 25 people, mainly on an academic level. You are responsible for assigning people to projects in such a way that the quality and flexibility of the assigned resources is guaranteed. You also ensure that the right amount and correct level of knowledge is present within the group. Tasks and Responsibilities Contributes to business planning and translates the Business Unit objectives into departmental objectives and ensures implementation Contributes to the realization of the engineering policy and annual plan and translates this into mechanical thermal group objectives Monitor developments within the mechanical thermal disciplines and translate these into subjectspecific methodologies, resource development and knowledge transfer Contributes to proposals and reviews as the mechanical thermal discipline lead Creates the necessary conditions for the optimal performance of the mechanical thermal group and is responsible for the professional development of the team members Ensures optimal resource coordination and assigns people to projects based on the capacity plans Follows developments in the market and identifies opportunities Ensures continuous development of policies, procedures and processes within its own field. Experience and Education A completed university degree in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering or comparable At least 5 years of experience in the Mechanical Thermal Engineering field, preferably for space applications You also have demonstrable experience in project andor people management You are flexible and creative and cooperates constructively with colleagues and external parties for e.g. the exchange of knowledge and experience You are conscientious and resultoriented and able to make your own plan and structure work and that of others You have good analytical and communication skills Fluent in English. Dutch is a plus. Description of the job Airbus Defence and Space are looking for a Mechanical Design Office Team Leader within the MDO Mechanical Design Office with particular focus on Propulsion and Thermal Finishes mechanical design. As a Mechanical Design Office Team Leader you will be responsible for a team of 820 CATIA Design Engineers, this includes Daytoday activities to ensure the completion of engineering activities for new and on ongoing projects, bids, studies and RD are on time, on cost and on quality. Provide Team Leader support to develop the team to comply with their objectives including timesheets, Personal Development reviews, HR topics, skills training developmental needs. This role will may require European travel on a quarterly cycle. Tasks accountabilities Ensure the completion of detailed engineering activities for new and on ongoing projects, bids, studies and RD are on time, on cost and on quality. Process owner and definition of processes for MDO activities within the propulsion and thermal finishes area, principally using CATIA V5 and 3Dexperience V6, in conjunction with related PDM and ERP software and systems including 3DCom, VPM , Delmia, Windchill etc. Define and implement metrics aiming to demonstrate positive trends while working to improve performance and productivity. Ensure a regular reporting toward line management in all domains problem areas, cost expenses, schedule achievements, efficiency improvement, risk mitigation . Ensure the work package commitments within the team are demonstrated through a managed EAC Estimate at Completion. Responsible for the workload headcount balancing over the MTP Mid Term Plan period and for the staff development in line with management directives. Interface with the internal customers and functional entities HR, Finance General team leadership activities including timesheets, Personal Development reviews, HR topics, skills training developmental needs, etc. This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Companys success, reputation and sustainable growth. You will be joining the AOCSGNC Flight Dynamics department and looking after a small team of approx. 10 Engineers. MTG System Verification Team Leader

Come and lead the verification engineering activities for our planned Meteosat Third Generation MTG satellites. The Role This is an outstanding opportunity to become involved in one of our most exciting and important future missions. In this role you will manage the Verification Engineering Team, leading and coordinating all the verification engineering activities for our next generation of satellites. You need to be a team player as you will work in close partnership with the Instrument Functional Chain Teams, the Operations Preparation team and the ground segment and system development teams. You will lead and coordinate the preparation of the system integration and verification plan, generating test specifications and ensuring that test tools and data are available and ready for use. You will assure the test processes are in line with the specifications and review test results with the relevant experts. Key to this role is maintaining control of the verification records. You will have substantial experience in system integration and verification of end to end Earth observation satellite systems, ideally with exposure to test preparation, execution and the use of simulators to generate test data. You need to be aware of industry standards, with the capacity to understand complex issues in a developmental environment. You will need to be able to communicate effectively. You can manage technical concepts and need to ensure that these are presented simply in formal documents and verbal presentations.
