Earth Observation Specialist Project Manager

About us Planetek Hellas PH is a Greek company, member of the Planetek Group that since 1994, operates in the field of Satellite Remote Sensing, Spatial Data Infrastructure and Software development for the on board and ground segment space applications. The Company was founded in 2006, is based in AthensGreece, and aims to replicate the successful approach to the market of the Group leader Planetek Italia s.r.l., whose applications and solutions are developed within the most important European programs in the field of space research and integrated systems for the management, analysis and sharing of landrelated information. Planetek Hellas experience conjugates mastering of advanced remote sensing processing, with GIS Commercial OffTheShelf COTS competence and real world application delivery. These applications are usually addressed to public administrations like Central and Local governments, Environmental Agencies, NGOs etc. Planetek Hellas has related activities in ECFP7 funded projects such as ITACA Innovation Technologies and Applications for Coastal Archaeological sites, SAFER Space Applications For Emergency Response, BIOSOS Biodiversity Multisource Monitoring System From Space to Species, GNEXT GMES preoperational security services for supporting external actions, and eENVplus eEnvironmental services for advanced application within INSPIRE. Planetek Hellas has also developed for ESA several systems integrated into ESASSE service support environment service architecture, under the projects NTSS Naval Traffic Statistics for Security and Ozone 3D. Planetek Hellas is also the first Greek company to have ever signed a contract with the European Space Astronomy Centre March 2013 for which its implementing an SDI system. The trust of ESAC on Planetek Hellas was reconfirmed in December 2014, when the company signed a new contract for the development of the Web Interfaces for the Planck mission archive. Planetek Group also participates to the definition and implementation of software for space systems for Earth Observation missions, such as ERS, Envisat, COSMOSkyMED, COSMO Second Generation, PRISMA, Solar Orbiter. Were currently looking for an Earth Observation Specialist Project Manager to significantly contribute in our image analysis and image processing activities. Personal profile Our new colleague will be a serious and reliable person, with excellent analytical and problem solving skills, excellent organizational skills, strong ability to work in team and goal oriented, excellent relational and communicative skill. Usually we choose the people and then consider their skills. There is a business hours but we are flexible because goaloriented. We are informal, reliable and available we love to do new and different things, share efforts and celebrate the results. Skills and experience degree in Rural and Survey Engineering, Forestry, Environment, Geography, Physical Sciences or Geology a good and demonstrated experience, of at least 35 years, in EO data processing and GIS a previous experience in Project Management or Technical Coordination fluency in English and Greek is a mandatory. Preferred competences previous experience in projects financed by international agencies the knowledge of the Italian language will also be an advantage. Spacecraft Programmes Manager

We are currently looking for a Spacecraft Programmes Manager to support our customer in Germany. Spacecraft Programmes Manager Key Tasks and Responsibilities The incumbent is responsible for the management of a geostationary telecommunication satellite programme from the contract signature up to the satellite launch activities. The Manager will develop a long term partnership with the spacecraft prime contractor through trustworthy technical collaboration. More generally the Manager will contribute to the attraction of contracts by supporting the various phases like proposal preparation, proposal handover, negotiation and contract setup and support the development of new technologies and innovations from EU suppliers. More precisely, the following responsibilities Responsible for the Programmes Management of the satellite construction activities Ensure the satellite meets high reliability and performance requirements with no major deviations or waivers from contract specification Maintain high level of visibility into contractor activities and identify any potential shortcoming that could impact spacecraft schedule Manage the Field Office Team in Bremen Manage and negotiate any technical changes in the contracts Approval of milestone payments, Request for Deviations and Requests for Waivers Actively encourage spacecraft suppliers to bring innovative and cost efficient solutions and grow the reputation for technical excellence Use professional project management tools appropriated to followup, report and document project progress Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Masters Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent Several years of professional experience in the space industry, preferably with some financial and commercial experience Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of German language is an advantage. Spacecraft Product Assurance Manager Key Tasks and Responsibilities The Spacecraft Product Assurance Manager is responsible for the quality standard of parts, materials and production processes applied to the construction of telecommunication spacecraft. You will have the following responsibilities Coordinate with the spacecraft prime contractor and subcontractor teams to ensure that product manufacturing and quality assurance provisions are adequate to meet reliability and performance requirements Ensure that a comprehensive and effective plan of hardware inspection is applied. Participate in key inspection and acceptance activities Ensure the spacecraft manufacturer and its subcontractors are compliant to all product assurance requirements inside the contract Manage the Field Office Quality Assurance engineering resources to support failure investigation, analysis, root cause determination and corrective action process Prepare and negotiate spacecraft product assurance procurement requirements and ensure these are appropriately reflected in related contractual documents. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Masters Degree in electrical or mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Several years experience in satellite design, manufacturing test, system engineering and program management. Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of German language is an advantage.
