Working in relation with CS Germany teams, the ideal candidate will be in charge of developing space related consulting activities, managing existing teams and identifying new business opportunities in line with CS group space strategic targets. Responsibility Under the supervision of CS Germany CEO the postholder undertakes the following Secure and improve current consultancy business by understanding technical needs and requirements and creating close link with current customers. Identify new business opportunities in line with CS group market targets and building relationships with prospective customers. Develop network with potential partners and future consultants. Prepare and deliver winning proposals in collaboration with CS bidding teams. Define business plans and strategic actions in collaboration with CS management team. Lead and develop local team by instilling confidence, trust and CS values. People management from daily concerns travel and training planning, management of leaves.. to career development monitoring performances through regular assessment and organizing yearly appraisal campaign. Provide a clear and efficient monthly reporting both to customer and hierarchy. Promote CS excellence as supplier and employer. Profile The ideal candidate shall gather the following mandatory skills and experiences A university degree in engineering, business or related discipline At least five years experience in management or business development in Industry Very good knowledge of ESTEC. First experience in working with or at ESTEC would be a considerable asset Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and proactively in a defined frame Very good negotiation and conflict management skills Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of Dutch, German or French will be considered as an advantage.

Are you the one to make our scientific instrument work perfectly in space? SRONs mission is to bring about breakthroughs in international space research. Therefore the institute develops pioneering technology and advanced space instruments, and uses them to pursue fundamental astrophysical research, Earth science and exoplanetary research. SPICA is an Mclass ESA mission candidate and has recently been selected for a 3 year study phase after which it may be selected for launch. SRON, in its role as Principal Investigator, is responsible for the SAFARI instrument onboard SPICA. SAFARI is a cryogenic grating spectrometer with Transition Edge Sensor TES bolometer arrays read out by Frequency Domain Multiplexed FDM electronics. For the study team we are hiring an AIV and Calibration Scientist manager fm vacancy number 1485 Job Summary As lead of the SAFARI AIV team you will define the calibration and verification philosophy in close collaboration with the international system team. You will define the verification activities and tests required to verify the performance as well as to qualify the instrument. With your team you will define, develop and use the required test setups. You will organize the analysis of the results and present the conclusions. Duties To lead a team of up to 12 engineers throughout the design of test equipment as well as calibration and test of a space instrument To implement within your team A System AIV philosophy and plan, including qualification, calibration and verification Implement the verification procedures and structure for the project design and purchase of two test cryostats simulating the relevant space environment tests to show compliance with the instrument requirements Provide technical input for the satellite AIT to JAXA and ESA Author scientific publications and present your work at international conferences Qualifications Ph. The salary will be in accordance with the salary scales of NWOI, which will be between 63.000,00 and 93.000,00 gross per year, highly depending on your work experience. Could you manage a team of scientists specialising in the maintenance and development of optical imagery products from satellites? The role We are seeking an experienced remote sensing expert to lead and coordinate our team of enthusiastic scientists, all experts in their own disciplines within a competence area. The team develops, maintains, validates and monitors the quality of optical imagery products from Low Earth and geostationary missions, and related meteorological products like Atmospheric Motion Vectors AMV and Lightning imagery products. You will manage the Optical Imagery Competence Area and its resources, including the functional analysis, definition and scientific evaluation of algorithms and the prototyping of processing software for the generation of level1 and level2 products for EUMETSATs current and future missions, along with the Copernicus missions exploited by us. In this role you will have the chance to interact with user communities, analyse their feedback on current products and potential new requirements. You will also support the Satellite Application Facilities SAFs involved in the extraction of EUMETSAT optical imagery products.
