Bring your operational information security experience to protect EUMETSATs satellite systems. With an increasing desire to protect the data from our satellites, we are looking for an Operations Security Engineer to support all security aspects of our current and future operational satellite systems. Your role at EUMETSAT With extensive experience of IT security management systems, gained in a 247, highavailability operations environment, you will support the maintenance and evolution of our Information Security Management System. This is an opportunity to work with partners and forums to identify policies, procedures and practices that safeguard our operational satellite systems and infrastructure. You will identify threats and vulnerabilities to our current systems and help to shape our approach to future missions. Your knowledge of security related compliance, network security solutions and architecture is essential, along with your ability to investigate and respond to potential threats and breaches. You should have excellent interpersonal and team working skills, with the ability to express complex information clearly to our staff and partners. You will use your organisational skills to ensure our approach to security is methodical and that we focus on the accuracy of our findings. This role will be challenging, so you need to be resilient, with the ability to manage your workload autonomously. JOB DESCRIPTION Within the Columbus Programm the Columbus Control Center Ground Controller is responsibile for the following tasks Monitoring of the computer and network systems and related data, voice and video services Execution of realtime configuration changes Troubleshooting and lead of corrective maintenance during realtime and simulation operations Single point of contact for Ground Segment related issues with all external agencies in support of realtime operations, simulation and test activities Generation, maintenance and validation of operational, system and test procedures Verification and testing of new and modified systems and interfaces, internally and with remote sites in the United States, Russia and throughout Europe Documentation of activities, configuration changes and anomalies activity logs, test reports, anomaly reports, etc. Acquire indepth knowledge of specific subsystems and provision of basic training to team members Definition of configurations and setups for forthcoming activities, in coordination with the Ground Operations Planner and Columbus Control Center ColCC subsystem engineers Identification of space mission specific ground requirements and capabilities of which that are reflected in reference documents. The selected candidate will be trained for around 6 Months and at the end of the training heshe will need to go through a certification process. Qualifications Degree in scientific or technical field Required knowledge Satellite Communications and Ground Segment Engineering. Position Reference 622 You will have the opportunity to perform engineering tasks in the domain of mission operations preparation tools development and maintenance for new and existing EUMETSAT space missions. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Mission Control System Telemetry and Telecommand Definition Database Management Flight Operational Procedure preparation and verification OnBoard software images verification Spacecraft Performance analysis Onboard Procedure definition and verification Software maintenance lifecycle Maintain, redesign or improve any relevant software pipelines Maintain, redesign or improve configuration items relevant for the maintenance activities e.g. JavaScripts use to implement EUMETSAT test procedures Provide expertise to users and technical staff with respect to the simulator usage Contribute to the identification, investigation and implementation of anomalies raised by users Participation in formal meetings in the scope of the maintenance activities e.g. Anomaly Review Boards, Test Readiness Review, Incoming inspections, or other relevant technical meetings Participate in the delivery acceptance process Contribution to any EUMETSAT maintenance processes leading to the deployment of the delivery Software configuration activities Preparation of relevant software application configuration artefacts Preparation of configuration artefacts relevant for development, deployment, production and verification activities Maintain and improve the development, integration and production environments used in the scope of the simulator activities Technical Documentation Contribute to the maintenance of the requirements baseline Update of simulator documentation artefacts e.g. Design, Requirements, etc. Contribute to the improvement of the knowledge base in the operational simulators domain Document the outcome of investigation and implementation activities in relevant tracking tools Assistance to users in the scope of procurement phases and routine operations. You have experience with spacecraft telemetry and telecommand databases. You have experience in operational procedures preparation. You have excellent command Software engineering UML modelling ObjectOriented Design Three tiers architectures Verification and Validation You have excellent command of Application Lifecycle Tools such as Eclipse IDE, Jenkins, Maven, Nexus, Git, Junit. You have excellent command of Software Languages and frameworkslibraries such as Java Programming, CC Programming, Eclipse RCP plugins development. You have a good knowledge of Applications ESOC DABYS. You have a good knowledge of Space Standards CCSDS TM and TC.
